Can i Look Yet? Rangers v Ross County Preview
Rousseau replied to cooponthewing's topic in Rangers Chat
That's your preview published, Coop! -
MW is very defensive -- hard not to be after that result and all the so-called journalists baying for blood -- but he's not wrong.
-
Oops! Sorry Yb, I'll get that done. It wasn't my usual routine after that result... Update: That's your 2 points added.
-
This is the second game against Hearts where I've not bothered to input all the data... depressing. But, there were some points picked up. Pete and Gribz gained 1 point for the Correct Number of Rangers Goals. boabie, cooponthewing, forlanssister and Bearman gain 2 points for Hyndman as FGS. Latest Standings: IFRAME Not Available. Transfer Rumours and Deals - Winter Window 2016/17

Good players, but I suspect their wages would be beyond us. There should be some freebies within our budget, surely? -

Arsenal Sign Cohen Bramall from Hednesford Town

I think Zelalem's better than MLS level, and I still think he'll play for a better/bigger club than Venlo as he's got the natural ability; his physique is letting him down, but at 20 it will hopefully come. -
[FT] Motherwell 0 - 2 Rangers (Miller 72; Hyndman 87)

We've played quite well, considering. Halliday is a real liability though; touch, awareness and passing have been non-existent. -

I like the patient build-up. Not many chances but I like the movement and control. I'm impressed by Toral and Hyndman; they occupy good positions and their movement creates space. -

Yes, I edited my post: credit where it's due. -

Funny how Walker's trying to justify that challenge. Roon ye! Edit: Actually he did concede that it was a red too. Credit where it's due. -

Pretty obvious red, but my words those commentators were creaming their pants at that; couldn't contain themselves. Halliday's touch and awareness have been awful so far; he's not reliable at CDM. -

Fair enough, BH, you were right. I thought he would make it -- albeit not any time soon with his physique, but in the future. Good chance we can now get him permanently! -
Transfer Rumours and Deals - Winter Window 2016/17
Rousseau replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Oxford would be an exciting signing, and I suppose it's an example of what MW was saying about getting to a stage where the bigger clubs trust us enough to loan us their best young talent. At the level we play guys of Oxford's calibre should bring an improvement to the squad. However, I would prefer to see permanent signings; loans, no matter how much of a boost they give, are only short-term. I'm not going to complain about quality young talent, though. January is also a very difficult month in which to do business. -

It's nice to see them getting a taster, but I hope it means that down the line they'll be given first team outings -- looks to be a while off though: they look like they're just out the womb! Is that Garner back in training?
-
Looks like a good move for the lad. Dortmund are building a formidable roster of young talent so they look to be the place to develop rather than fading away to obscurity at Madrid.

We were decent for the whole match without being brilliant. One stupid cross undoes us again, but the defending is not the issue IMO it's the lack of cutting edge up front. To be honest I was confident we'd score at the end there when we were behind. I think when we went behind we had double the amount of attempts (10-5), but they had 2 on target while we had zero (0). This is unacceptable. While this reflects the type of chances each side gets we must be doing better. I thought Toral did OK without doing anything great, but it'll take a while to get him up to speed. Hyndman looked good, with a nicely weighted pass for Miller.
-
I like the dominance in terms of possession, but bloody hell we lack a bit of cutting edge up front! Miller is not the answer as a Centre-Forward -- he's better drifting behind or wide. We should have had a penalty -- as clear a penalty as I've ever seen.
-
Did we score!? My feed went down!
-
Ah Ok, fair enough. I think we've shown glimpses of it working well, both defensively and offensively: we've looked a little more stable and have shown a bit more creativity in the final third. The St Johnstone game was good for the first half, then we blew it, but were doing ok with it for a first try. The Celtic game was OK too, but were beaten by a better side -- admittedly we didn't help ourselves with the defending. I think it'll take more time. I'm happy to see the manager trying new things.
-
What do people think of Toral? Not had much of the ball but has shown a few nice touches -- nice wee pirouette! It'll take him more time to get settled into our style, but I think he looks like he could be a good addition.
-
We have been playing a variation of it for about three weeks. I think it's been OK thus far. If we can't try it here where can we try it?
-
That Davies goal was superb (I hope Lukaku didn't touch it!). And now young Lookman has just scored to make it 4-0! City thrashed and Koeman tactically out-thought Guardiola. Unbelievable.
