You've made two points around loss. An 800k loss is better than a £5m loss. I did concede it would be a risk. I think we could replace him, though; with someone more suited to the way we want to play.

It would be a risk but financially we should take it, IMO. To just lose 800k on a 30-year-old rather than £5m is a no-brainer.

I just posted a stat which says Tavernier created the most chances against Motherwell. It's just a fact. That doesn't mean I think he has been a good performer - in fact, I've been quite critical of him this season. We have actually been using a situational back three and one DM in possession. That's still not helped much. IMO, the issue is the poor pressing - and Tavernier's legs going.

Tavernier: Pass Success 81%, Accurate crosses 45%, ground duels won 33%. Yilmaz: 83%, 29%, 50%. Neither completed any dribbles. Both quite wasteful. It's the volume that generates the high chances created: they have double the amount of passes compared to the midfield. Barron had a 98% Pass Success Rate!! (Albeit fewer and less risky, but that's higher than our CBs.)
