We could say the same about every player in the team, though -- outside Docherty, perhaps. I don't understand why Windass seems to have this particular attention and dislike thrown his way.

I want a talented coach over experience, to be honest. But, of course, they have to have some sort of track record of improving teams. I want a German (They've promoted young managers with talent, Klopp, Tuchel, Nagelsmann, Tadesco (Schalke) etc. all without any real experience; I think that's the way to go). Tuchel's still available, but he's out of our reach. And Nagelsmann (Hoffenheim) is available in the summer, but again, he's out of our reach. It's a really difficult decision. I don't really know what level we're browsing in. Is it Tuchel, or McInnes? Or is it somewhere in between?
-
It is a big decision. The role was thrust upon Murty, but we all knew he wasn't ready. I'm not going to criticise a man who didn't want the job and is not ready for it; he had only just started as a youth coach. He's still done well: he's got us to a stage where we can compete with most sides -- outwith the situation rbr outlined above, the ability to break extremely compact sides down; it's not easy. The semi will be different because Celtic will not be sitting-deep; that's not Rodgers' style. This result only dents our chances of gaining second -- which is still the target. I don't -- and never did -- want him as permanent manager, but I'll thank him for the work done.

We don't really have a clue. It's some vague wing-play, but it's not quick enough so they get back in shape easily. They are extremely compact, so we're not getting through. Ugh.
-
Killie are extremely compact, and we're struggling to break through. The only way is to let them bunch up on one wing, then quickly switch it to the under-loaded wing; but we've not got a free pivot to switch the play quickly enough. Murphy is struggling.
-
Any win will do too, for me. Killie are an organised, well-drilled side which will be difficult to break down. I don't think they are that good going forward, but we're still shaky defensively, liable to make a mistake, so anything can happen. I dismissed Clarke very early as an option for us, but he's turning my head; I'm still not sure he's quite right for us, though.

Naaaah! He's sh*te, and he hides!

Linesman who did his job... gets another job, shocker! This is embarrassing.

John has been another decent signing -- another we had written off before he'd played! He's a superb runner with the ball, dynamic, and opens up space. However, he needs a better delivery. He also needs to improve defensively: his ability, or lack thereof, to stop crosses is poor. I feel he can improve in these areas, though, with a little time.

That would hold a lot more weight if you didn't have a big 'Yes' sticker as your profile picture, on a Football Forum...

Superb news! He's been a stand-out.

That was one of the worst performances I've ever seen. Sanchez and Pogba couldn't even pass the ball?!

In general I think it's stupidity of the highest order to drop arguably our best players, for whatever reason, but for specific games to suit a tactical approach, like being more solid defensively, then fair enough. The Morelos argument is just short-termism, but the Windass one doesn't suit the best tactical approach... IMO, of course.
-
A few on Twitter were suggesting dropping Windass for the next Old Firm game, for a more 'solid' midfielder. I may be Windass' biggest fan, and I'll follow him until he loves me, but I don't think we're paying attention to the best tactical approach against Celtic. Having a more 'solid' midfielder in there, like Dorrans or Holt (?), is fine but only if we're looking to soak up pressure; get into a solid shape and let them have the ball etc., soak it up and counter. Could work? I think Killie had success with something similar. However, many have repeatedly said that we need to defend from the front against Celtic, pressing high and aggressively -- force Boyata into mistakes! In my opinion, Windass, along with Candeias and Morelos, are the best pressers we have. If we want to press aggressively, we need Windass. We can't have a half-and-half approach.

I think the guy had wound him up several times -- Carragher stated he had drove away a couple of times, only for the guy to follow and continue, with a phone camera. The Child is the innocent party; the father is not -- it's actually disgraceful behaviour from him. The guy is an idiot, but there is no need whatsoever for Carragher's reaction. I'd be surprised if he keeps his job.

Perhaps too early, but Docherty will get there too, along with McCrorie. I think Dorrans should be sniffing around too, when he's fit. I think those are most of the Scots we have.

I understand, and am sympathetic to, the protests, but I agree, there are better ways to go about it.

Perhaps not the place to post, but I usually look forward to the tactical segments on MNF, but I've just seen that St Brenda is the guest; I don't know if I can stomach that...

They are protesting against their owners; they've been relegated before without such recourse.
