You can take a horse to water!, MOH for me runs into blind alleys, kick and run, compare him to Candeias

True, but I remain optimistic, despite there being little evidence to the contrary! :D

Transformed?, sorry but I don't rate him and to be honest I don't see how he can fit into the way Murty wants to play?, love to be proved wrong!

Perhaps not "transformed", but he may have a role to play on the wings -- his pace is blistering, but he is a headless-chicken!

  3. Good read, that! I love a wee history lesson.

I think it'll be 4-2-3-1 -- going by the formation in Florida, and my recently published article (ahem *cough*) -- but it's anyone's guess who will play.

    Perhaps:

    Foderingham

    Martin - Bates - Wilson - John

    Goss - Holt

    Candeias - Windass - Murphy

    Cummings

Then again, that looks rather 'strong', so a few irregulars may come in, like the legend that is DALCIO.

  4. He's not the best player in the world, but on his day he is superb. You need to use him correctly: get balls onto his head! In this respect, he could be a good option for a Chelsea side that cross the ball well.

Injuries will be the issue, but if he's used sparingly then he'll do well.

245 games and 70 goals in 12 years of football.

£35 million to move to Liverpool, with a £2 million move to West Ham on loan before completing a permanent move to West Ham for £15 Million.

Only thing I've gathered from Andy Carroll is Managers have more money than sense.

£15M is a steal for Carroll now.

  6. I didn't know he had played RB. However, that data shows he's not been deployed there too often over the last few seasons, suggesting it was mostly in his younger days, when he had more energy.

Although, he could be a good defensive option at RB for us.

  7. The profile of players signed and the deals themselves have been good, so I consider that a success from the DoF's perspective. Ultimately, though, it does come down to how they perform of the pitch that will determine whether it is truly successful.

He's about the same age as Colin Stein was when he joined Rangers, in his case directly from Hibs. He turned out to be a very decent player for us. Let's hope that Cummings is as successful.

I don't recall that Stein had anything of the ned about him, unlike, worryingly, Cummings. Maybe he is just young and daft, and maybe I am just picky, or snobbish, or irredeemably old school, of course.

(The "Colin Stein" who posts on here displays clear evidence of delinquency, on the other hand.)

Maybe something like clint hill he has bag loads of experience and was a captain for years at Norwich they called him the Norfolk Cafu!

How does that work? He's not a Full-back.

Anyway, we already have the Blue Cafu. :D

I thought this would free up Alves to move on.

Possibly. There was an article about him not going anywhere, but I don't know about the veracity of it, though.

I'd like to keep Alves; I thing he's been a solid player for us.
