I take it you aren’t married.

it isn’t bowing to the will of one’s spouse if both have a desire to go there.  You are making the supposition that it is only his wife that wants to move to the US.  We don’t know that to be the case.

He maybe could play 5+ more years with us, win trophies, play in Europe and internationally. He also could stay with us for 5+ more years, become a peripheral figure in the squad, win zero trophies, never play in Europe and never get a cap again for Scotland.

i find it mildly amusing that 3 months ago many of us wanted rid of Wilson because he was shite.... and now moan because he is looking to leave and claim he has a lack of ambition.

You brought up the spouse; It's unambitious either way. (And, no; I'm not. :D)

He could fade into obscurity, but the possibility is there; it vanishes altogether IMO if he packs his bags.

I never wanted rid of Wilson; I've argued a lot over the past few days that I'd like to keep him; I think he's a good defender, that can play internationally because I don't think there are many better in Scotland.

If there are personal reasons then I'll revise my position when they are made clear, but until then, I'll base it on a strictly footballing position; and, for me, moving to the US, shows a lack of ambition.

    I WILL NOT BE MOVED!

I don’t think it does.  He may have ambitions outside of football and sees those ambitions happening in the US, not here.

Just take Beckham for example, did he lack ambition by going to LA ?  There was an ulterior motive to his move there.

A football career is a fairly short one and Wilson may be looking beyond just his football career.

Further, it may be that as a family they want to move.  Dictate to a female spouse at your peril.

Beckham was 30+ when he went to the US; his career was finished at the elite level.

Players regularly look to the future -- they can do most of it anywhere -- but not at the cost of their playing career -- unless they're sh*te.

Bowing to the will of one's spouse -- as peaceful as it may be -- does not preclude a lack of ambition.

He can play for 5+ more years with us, winning trophies, playing in Europe, playing internationally.

  3. Old-fashioned badges are often the best, simply because they've taken elements of their area, which have become part of the clubs culture.

Yorkshire Rose should be there somewhere.

There new one looks bland and meaningless.

I think we're unusual to have two badges. I love them both, especially the scroll crest on the tops.

Burt uses the same agent as Naismith and Whittaker. Burt looked like a great prospect a couple of seasons ago, I suppose it depends in his injury and how serious it was. Anyway, with Declan and Sean in the side there's space for a Liam now!

I'll never get used to that... :D

Cant really say Ive seen the chap play, anyone confirm what type of midfielder he is?

Looking at the squad our midfield certainly seems bolstered at the moment.

    Box-to-box; like McArthur.

  6. It'll not influence the top league, and the lower leagues are rather competitive anyway: it still doesn't generate interest, nor attract youngsters to go out on loan.

Having a Rangers 'B' team in League Two will generate more gate receipts for the lower league clubs, generate a bit more interest etc.

It is inherently selfish: a 'B' team bridges the gap between youth-team and first-team for the side (Rangers, say), but the youngster remains in the Rangers mentality, play the way the first-team play, while getting 'first-team' experience.

It produces better players, and even if they don't make it in the first-team, they'll filter down into smaller clubs.
