  1. I think I've managed to forgo all reason and convince myself that Gerrard will be a good move.

I'll have gone from 'Gerrard shouldn't be an option', to 'Stevie G's taking us to 55' on the announcement when it comes -- if it comes...

And If it doesn't come I'll be like...

Candeias has much better stats as the lost neck monster but I am not sure how Forrest can have more shots on target but Candeias has a better shooting accuracy. That is strange.

    "Lost neck monster"! :roflmao:

He probably takes more shots -- Candeias doesn't really shoot that often.

It's mental that Forrest can be ahead of Candeias. Crazy.

  3. All this news is based on the shortening of the odds, isn't it? Nothing concrete has been released/announced.

I'm not sure a decision has to be made any time soon, just because the odds have shortened.

It'll be released when it's done. Murty will see out the season, as stated several months ago.

  4. I still think he could do a job for us.

He's good in the box, sh*te out of it. Perhaps too expensive an impact player, but if he's used intelligently, he could play his part in paying off the outlay.

I'm perhaps being too optimistic here -- we do need everyone pulling their weight.

SBS, what would it take to make you happy again buddy?

The only answer I can think is is a time machine or a fairy Godmother.....just saying pal.

    Fixed that for you. :D

MOH is worse than Windass imo, Alves is out,AGAIN! so the team virtually picks itself, barring 1 or2 personel changes available, we can only hope the players selected give 100% and hope that is good enough!.

MOH, a man that has barely played 5 minutes in a year and a half, is worse than Windass, our joint-top scorer and one of our best performers?

    Yes, I think you're right. :D

Bartley wasn't particularly outstanding when he was here previously, but he was fairly solid (from memory)

I just remember Bartley flying into a crunching tackle on Broonaldo, sending him spinning through the air.

Is that enough to warrant a move? Yes; yes, it is! :D

  8. MOH's pace is frightening, but his decision-making is awful. It needs to be taken away from him, like Stirling at Man City. Stirling was poor initially, as he just ran without any end product; in comes Guardiola, giving him a specific job to do.

MOH could be useful up front. Morelos, Windass and MOH pressing, and breaking, would cause any team trouble.

There is no such thing as maxed out the club should always aim to do better in all aspects from play to selling season tickets ,we can always do better.

So we can sell more ST than we have seats?

    Excellent news.

I suspect you're right, but I have to wonder how wise that is after losing 4-0 with it.

The element of surprise is huge in football and a change in formation can work a treat. Celtic will be preparing to play us in 4-2-3-1 and will be very comfortable with how they plan to play against it.

If we come out in a 3-5-2 or a 4-1-2-1-2, the sacrifice of a player who'd normally start would likely be more than cancelled out by the advantage gained by the surprise. An example of this is perhaps the shock 3-0 win over Aberdeen when Murty first whipped out the diamond.

    Maybe.

In those set-ups we'd be going without Murphy and Candeias; I can't see that.

I think we could press very aggressively in a 4-1-2-1-2, with Windass, Morelos and Cummings. However, we gave them the flanks in the Semi, which didn't work out too well.

  11. This is our best team:

    Foderingham

    Tavernier - Bates - Alves - John

    Docherty - Dorrans

    Candeias - Windass - Murphy

    Morelos

Martin and/or McCrorie may come in for the injured Bates and Alves.

There's no point in changing it.

The only question is how we execute it. If we sit back, like in the Semi-Final, we're asking for trouble. If we press, like in the game at Ibrox, then we've got a chance -- if we have a bit of luck, and both teams keep 11 men on the pitch...
