Would you like me to provide a thesis on my psychological analysis of Windass and his on-field Houdini antics (especially in big games) and twitter nonsense?

Ultimately, it would summarise as above.

I was hoping for some thoughts on the type of player Gerrard will bring in, as you said Windass wouldn't fit. It seemed like you had ideas on the matter.

I know how you feel about Windass. No point going over that.

Because Windass is a poncey coward.

Oh, I was expecting an intelligent answer. Oh well.

I was curious. I hadn't thought about it. However, if Arfield is the type he wants, a pressing, general attacker, then I can see Windass being used. i'd need to see how the rest of the transfer window goes to get a clearer idea, though.

I'll give you all 4 weeks of no football and you'll be wishing the season was still going.  Even the upcoming World Cup isn't enough to satisfy the need to watch the gers.  I hate the close season.  It's too long, and the speculation on transfers this year especially with drive us all crazy.  I reflect on the fact that if I had been born to different parents, or in a different part of the world, I might have ended up supporting another team.  So, no matter how bad things are at our club, at least I wake up every morning a bear.  I thank my lucky stars for that!

4 Weeks? It's been two days and I'm like...

  4. Kante is a strange one: at one or two things, he's world-class, but as a general midfielder, he's average at best. He is a machine at times.

It goes to show how a team can build on a player's qualities. Every player has their own skill-set.

I don't like designating a player either 'good', or 'bad'. I'd rather look at what they are good at, and not so good at.

  5. We seem to be adamant that McBurnie is good. I've not actually watched him enough to comment. On the little I've seen, he's not really a goalscorer, more a target-man and link-up player -- which actually makes sense as he's come up the Swansea system. He might be a useful option, but I wouldn't be spending £4m on him; he's barely played any first-team games.

be honest. Lennon's a better manager than any of us thought. That's what I'm judging him on....not the baggage or his mental health issues

and there won't be a thread as you describe.....it would be taken down. Think admin don't want to upset those of a delicate disposition

You're more than welcome to create a thread, in General football chat, but I doubt there'd be much comment; at least not positive, for obvious reasons.

So you missed that Murphy assisted two of our goals today?

As for Murphy being poor, well, it is all about opinions.

I didn't see the game -- I tunred it off at 3-0 and didn't want to jinx it afterwards! :D

I didn't say Murphy was poor, you did; and you were somehow suggesting it was because of Windass, who played 20 minutes, I believe.

Others are suggesting he had quite a good game. Which is good to hear.

I just don't get this constant need to criticise and blame Windass for all our woes, whether you like him or not.

I actually spelled it out. Windass went missing again and Murphy was essentially - along with Candeias - asked to do his job as well. Hence he ventured inside more often than what his job was in recent games. All Windass did today after coming on was placing his hip into Holt's shot. After that he was missing again, not least when Murphy (SIC!) was going central again, dancing himself free on the right (sic!) side of the area and placing an inviting cross right in front of goals ... put Windass was no-where in sight. If only we had left Cummings on the field!

So yes, when talking about Murphy's impact, other players will come into play as well.

So, Murphy was poor because Windass was playing, despite only coming on for 20 minutes? Not for me.

Windass' arse did more than Murphy did today.
