A first-team coach, a technical coach and a performance coach, all highly regarded in their field. Superb appointments. And Gary McAllister too.  We've been missing technical coaches. 

Gerrard has clearly been rounding off his coaching needs, to make up for his inexperience. Good self-awareness from Stevie G, and it covers all the bases, to give him the best opportunity of success. 

I think this kid could be good. Good ball control, strong, imposing physically and won't get shoved off the ball. 

What is encouraging is that he's signed a long term contract with Liverpool before signing for us, so they clearly rate him!

How do we all feel about the Joker card? 

In one game only per round of matches (7 rounds altogether: 3 group matches, last-16, Qf, Sf and F) you play your joker card; whatever you get on that game, your points are doubled.

You're not wrong, but we need to look at how he's played at that good level. It was as part of a Pulis West Brom side that has 4 CBs in their back-four, and then a 4 in front for virtually the whole game. We will not be playing that way. 

Can he then play when its opened up? I don't think so, simply because he's not that type of player, and he's getting on a bit. 

We already have Alves, who, for me, is better.

If we take their spells at Madrid and Barcelona, around 3 years each, Zidane won 9 trophies while Guardiola won 14.

I'm not sure how you reached that patently false conclusion that Zidane is more successful.

Guardiola has since won anther 9 trophies in 2 completely different countries. 

Moreover, if Guradiola is a "successful manager because he's managed clubs who are expected to win the league", what does that say about Zidane, managing Real Madrid?
