  1. This really excites me.

A first-team coach, a technical coach and a performance coach, all highly regarded in their field. Superb appointments. And Gary McAllister too. :D We've been missing technical coaches.

Gerrard has clearly been rounding off his coaching needs, to make up for his inexperience. Good self-awareness from Stevie G, and it covers all the bases, to give him the best opportunity of success.

Anyway, I didn't really want to post that gif.

I wanted to post this one.

It has no relevance to this thread though.

Every gif has relevance, if you look deeply enough, even if only for what it reveals about the poster.

    :D

  3. The World Cup is less than 10 days away. How about a Gersnet World Cup Prediction League? :D

    Provisional Rules:

You will receive 3 points for a Correct Score

You will receive 1 point for a Correct Result

+ 1 joker prediction to use Once Per Round which will double any points received.

Let me know if you are interested, and if the point scoring sounds agreeable.

We could get hung up on age instead of looking at capability. McAuley is experienced and has been playing at a good level for the last few years, way higher than SPFL. With his background he shouldn't have any problem 'fitting in' and having an experienced centre half sounds like a smart move to me. If he can guide young McCrorie like Davie Weir did to Danny Wilson once upon a time he'll be a good bit of business.

The squad needs experience, we're very light on that now, a handful of older senior pros is essential.

You're not wrong, but we need to look at how he's played at that good level. It was as part of a Pulis West Brom side that has 4 CBs in their back-four, and then a 4 in front for virtually the whole game. We will not be playing that way.

Can he then play when its opened up? I don't think so, simply because he's not that type of player, and he's getting on a bit.

We already have Alves, who, for me, is better.

I thought Pep and Yaya kissed and made up? Seems not.

I hope Yaya blows Pep out the water. A successful manager because he's managed clubs who are expected to win the league. Zidane is more successful than him.

    Zidane is "more successful"?

If we take their spells at Madrid and Barcelona, around 3 years each, Zidane won 9 trophies while Guardiola won 14.

I'm not sure how you reached that patently false conclusion that Zidane is more successful.

Guardiola has since won anther 9 trophies in 2 completely different countries.

Moreover, if Guradiola is a "successful manager because he's managed clubs who are expected to win the league", what does that say about Zidane, managing Real Madrid?
