What is the problem?Ive posted this for suggestions

So they can all be in the same place

Naw pointless was signing Mexicans who could not hit barn door with a banjo on or off drugs and drink

If there is no link to Rangers, then I think it's pointless.

You're free to do as you wish, however.

    IMO here's the order from easiest to hardest (and I've assumed some teams will go through);

    Maribor (SVN)

    København (DEN)

    Olympiacos (GRE)

    Feyenoord (NED)
    Bordeaux (FRA)

It's a very tough draw. I'd say we'd only be slight favourites for Maribor and underdogs for the rest. And even then, Maribor's squad are far more experienced in Europe than us.

I hadn't realised what a huge task qualifying for the group would be. Not to be presumtous, but fingers crossed for Maribor or Copenhagen because the other 3 present an enormous challenge for us just now. The fact we're a bit worried about Osijek is the proof of that.

I'd have Olympiakos above both Feyenoord and Bordeaux.

    Tough draw, either way.

Good luck to the lad. I just hope that if he plays every week, its because he deserves to, and not because we are having our team picked for us from Merseyside.

We could certainly do with a proper winger who can actually cross to a teammate, or get past a defender and get a shot on target. Something we havent had for a while.

I don't think any have that anymore; or at least very few.

Disappointed if this ends Brandon Barker link because with Barker you know what you're getting. He has blistering pace and dribbling ability that simply doesn't exist in our current squad. Kent may offer this but he may not, it looks like another risk. Hope I'm wrong.

I think Kent will bring that.

Of course, Barker has done 'well' for Hibs and so has experience in this league, but then Kent has done 'well' for Barnsley in the Championship.

I don't think they are risks in what they bring (pace, dribbling etc), but they are both a risk in whether they can do it for us, against the common opposition set-ups we face.

He looks good in the obligatory YouTube videos but getting sent home early from his loan at Freiburg then again getting sent home early from his loan at Bristol doesn't fill me with any confidence at all. As always will hope he can hit the ground running and prove his worth.

Hope has to be to see the midfield and forward starters increase in standard, not too sure it's going to happen though. Can only hope we have some surprises in the pipeline.

The Freiburg one doesn't bother me, because that's a big step up for any youngster, to play in the Bundesliga.

The Bristol City one could be a problem, but I suspect it would've been hard to break into a tight-knit side doing well. He was successful at Barnsley the year before in the Championship, though.

We can only wait and see.

  6. I think it's unusual in the UK for clubs to loan out so many players, but it's quite common in Italy, for example.

Teams like Juventus loan players out for several years before they are ready to make first-team appearances for Juventus. They identify the talent and, as they can't develop them in their first-team, for obvious reasons, they loan them out. It makes sense.

There is perhaps a line, though. Chelsea seemed like they were hoarding players, without really knowing whether they were ever good enough.

It's something we should be doing -- if the budget allows, of course.

I still get a paper in the morning (The National, surprise surprise).

I work with computers all day, staring at a screen....a paper gives me a break from that.

    That's not a paper... :ninja:

  8. Waghorn was never a great finisher, but he was a good forward.

We should've kept him before Garner et al, but I recall many were pleased that he'd left.

I hate how we undervalue our players -- some think Windass is worth under £1m, which is ludicrous; even if you don't like him, like Waghorn, doesn't mean he's worthless.

How much did we get for Waghorn?

Windass is an awful team player. Pretty boy who does his wee tricks in training and the easy games. Then he hides in case someone kicks him in the big games. Looks like SG has decided to put his faith in him? That went well for the last few manages eh?

You're just making stuff up now.

"Awful team player"? He works his socks off making runs in behind for his teammates; he's constantly moving.

    "Pretty boy"? Yes... :D

"Hides"? I think the word is wrong, but he does go missing in games sometimes; that's not always down to him.

"Wee tricks"? I don't recall him ever doing any tricks. If by tricks you mean goals and assists, then long may it continue.

You could also ask, what is it that FOUR managers have seen, that the expert, 'Shug fae glesga', has not? I think i'd trust a manager over Shug.
