I think this sounds very bad in principle.
Youth teams playing in the senior leagues is designed to strengthen the position of big clubs even further. It will make Scottish football even less competitive than it already is.
Also, if the highland league teams really are better then why don't they win promotion in the existing system?
We disagree on the Colt teams point. I only really care about Rangers; this benefits us.
It could benefit all teams anyway by bringing through better youngsters. When you think of the countries that produce the best players, Spain and Germany; both of these have B-teams in the senior leagues.
It's weighted against them, but former Highland League teams (Elgin City, Inverness, Peterhead and Ross County) do pretty well compared to the rest of the League.

I didn't watch it, but apparently Grezda did well?

I think this sounds 'good', in principle.
The Highland sides are wanting to move up, and are often better than the dross at the bottom anyway.
And, it gets our Colt teams into the pyramid, which benefits us and benefits player development.
There are too many teams, but we can't ask these sides to shut up shop.
I still think the Premiership should be extended quite a bit too.

McAuley on for the 2nd half just to get minutes into his legs but I've got to say if he continues to play like that for us then he's a stick on for me as our right centre the other three can fight it out for the other place. Only one pressure situation that he had to face today and he chests it down and comes away with it cool calm composed just exactly what we've been missing in there. I'm happy with that result today but as is the case with expectation I would have liked another one just to put us above our rivals in terms of goal difference by one goal.
I agree -- although maybe not as first-choice, but a very able replacement.
You can see his experience.
He jostled very well, almost always forcing them to pass backwards or wayward. He got on the end of a cross in the final third too.

FT Rangers 7-1 Motherwell.
That'll do.

Ejaria weaving his way into a shooting opportunity, but blasts it over the bar.
He's [Ejaria] strolled it, it must be said.

Atakayi has to come off, after taking a hard one a few minutes ago.
10 men a piece for the last 10 minutes.

Arfield and Grezda on a hat-trick.

I'm getting tired changing the score in the thread title... NOT!

Seven!!
Well-worked short corner, taken short, whipped into the far post where Grezda nods it home!
7-1.
Piece of p*sh.

Oooft! Ejaria with a pic-point passing shot from 25 yards, just tipped round the post.

Atakayi coming on for Middleton, who has had a superb game.

@Gaffer -- Did you change your GPL score? Did you not have us to score 6?

Isn't that where Arfield or Ejaria should come in, @Rousseau?
I think they keep heading for the box to get on the end of his crosses.
To be fair, they've worked the space a few times. I'd like to see it more, though.

Grezda makes it six!
He stands them up, cuts inside and he creates the space to strike it low and hard into the bottom near post. Nice finish.
Grezda has had a very good half. I'm pleased for him.

When Middleton has the ball, he's dragging 2-3 players out because they can't deal with his pace; I'd like to see Someone take advantage of that space.

And... I missed the 5th, typing up the 4th...
Arfield with the goal! 5-1.
Nce play from Tav, cuts it across for Arfield, who composes himself and bends it into the far corner.

Nice goal from Middleton.
Good play from Grezda and Arfield on the right, before cutting it across for Middleton to slot it home on the left -- first time shot aswell; nice finish.
4-1.

Grezda's been lively this half, after a poor first. He's quick, with good feet.

The Ulster Gazelle coming on. Morelos goes off.
Good decision; he had taken a sore one.

Middleton going on the outside there, turning on the pace and flouts in a nice cross which the defender just beats Morelos too.
Good movement from Grezda on the right, with a nice cross in.
We've started the half well.

I watched it too.
I think we see any Davis signing as one that would fulfil our #10 issue, but he was actually playing DM last night, as he does for Southampton; that's his position now, because he doesn't have the legs. Do we need another DM?
