I would've liked Souness in my team. Can Mols play on his own up top? Numan over Van Bronckhorst is interesting. Numan is the better defender, I suppose. I want my Full-backs high and wide!

I'm trying to foster a wee bit of discussion in this quiet spell. What is the best Rangers XI? The team has to be comprised of the best players in those positions - you can't just stick Gough, Butcher, Weir and Amoruso etc. in a back four! You can choose your own formation, but the players need to fit into that formation - so, having McCoist as a lone striker would perhaps not work as well as having him playing alongside Hateley, for example. It will inevitable be limited to players of 'your generation'. Mine would be (4-2-3-1): McGregor Hutton - Weir - Amoruso - Van Bronckhorst Ferguson - Hemdani Laudrup - DeBoer - Albertz Wallace I went with Wallace because I think the formation requires someone with a bit of pace and movement. I loved Mols, but I don't think he can play on his own. Not sure about Albertz wide Left, though. I wanted a bit of bite and control in the middle, so I went with Hemdani, but I could move Albertz back and go with McCann or Kanchelskis wide left. DeBoer just shades Windass...

These games do nothing for me. It just seems like a playground stramash. Sorry.

I'm sensing a pattern to the Goals of the Day...

An informative, if short, video explaining our system of play. I've always believed our strategy and tactics are good enough, albeit lacking some tweaks. However, it counts for nothing if the players don't step up.

I'm missing my Rangers fix, so I've been watching goal clips. What's your favourite Rangers Goal? Not the best goal we've ever scored, but this late winner holds a special place in my memories:

While I think they'll edge it over the two legs, it'll be closer that it seems. They're a counter-pressing and counter-attacking side; they do well when teams open up, but they do concede a lot of goals. We're better when we defend in a deep block and counter, which is where most of our European goals are from.

That's partly true, yes, but he still needs to be given the service to do that. I only recall one time he was given the ball in a forward area today.

It looked more like a situational back three towards the end (I saw Beale telling Kent to get wide): Polster tucked in, with Barisic high and wide on the left and Kent high and wide on the right -- this suits Kent, as @DMAA has been saying for a while. Also lets us get two strikers on.

Morelos is out of form, but did he have a chance today? At the best of times he needs several chances to score from, because he's not the most clinical.
