I first saw Jamie Ness play in an OF league game at Ibrox and his cultured left foot and composure in such an environment were at a level I'd seldom seen in our midfield.

I had only saw clips of Jim Baxter but Ness and his style reminded me of him

This guy could go as far as he wanted in the game but ......

He was the latest in a long list of young Rangers midfielders who for varying reasons didn't do as well as they should have done.

I think Demotion curtailed his Ranges career, so he may have progressed otherwise.

Then again, we've had lads like Fleck and wasted them.

That's a whole other kettle of fish: an unfulfilled potential XI.

You are noted for your tactical insight, Rousseau, but fielding twenty one players is a masterstroke.

Enough to get the ball back off your team?

  3. I love these threads, but I also hate them.

I've got the following, but I'm still annoyed that I'm missing many out!

    (5-2-3 - because I need to have a formation.) :D

    Klos /  Wattereus

    Hutton / Ricksen - Amoruso - Weir - Papac - Numan / Van Bronckhorst

    Ferguson / Gattuso - Albertz / Tugay / Reyna

    De Boer / Lovenkrands - Mols / Wallace / Arveladze -  Laudrup / McCann

Standard win and we move into the split 8 points clear with an overwhelming goal difference.

Noticed SG was using a wired ear bud. Perhaps concerned about the risk of someone finding a connection to any bluetooth communication he might use.

Nah--He was catching up on the latest Gersnet podcast. :ninja:

  5. FT 0-3 Rangers.

We were not great today, but solid and workmanlike.

We were clinical, however; something that has been missing.

I was really pleased with our offensive structure, though: it was a proper 4-3-3, with the wide men playing as inside forwards, in between the lines. Too often our 4-3-3 morphs into a 4-1-4-1 or 4-5-1 which isolates the forward.

Solid, professional performance. Three goals and a clean sheet. We can't argue with that.

We've played a lot better and not been 2 goals up at Fir Park.

Not complaining but I'd hope we can come out and play a lot better in the second half.

Midfield isn't really functioning very well.

Game isn't over yet so the sooner the better we get a third.

I still have nightmares about our last visit.
