  1. I think that's him finished at Rangers. Probably for the best.
  2. According to SSN, Jordan Jones to undergo a medical at Sunderland ahead of a loan move until the end of the season.
  3. He's not replacing Bassey. You don't bring in a guy that can maybe fill in at LB to discard a very good prospect (Bassey) from his natural position. That just doesn't make sense. Edmundson or Katic will be surplus, IMO - preferably Katic.
  4. Kamara taking the p*ss... (That's a better shot from Kent too: it's more controlled. He just needs to get the accuracy right.)

  6. The majority got the FGS, so it's a good scoring round. And, we have a maximum! Correct Result (1 pt): Everyone who entered. Correct Number of Rangers Goals (1pt): Rousseau and BHB. FGS (2 pts): Gribz, compo, Yorkie, Dado, Stew, Bill, GS, BF, DJ, BHB, TinMan, BEAR, Devil, MacK, Franc, T-1000, 26th, r_s and Uilleam. Correct Score (3 pts): Rousseau and BHB. BHB takes the maximum! 7. I can't believe I didn't pick Morelos...
  8. ... and then there's a man like Andrea Pirlo. Clearly a deep thinker of the game, submitting his thesis in the Italian way, with a clear idea of how he wants to play. Yet, suffering from a lack of hands-on, practical experience? I think he was appointed after 3 days with the under-23s!
  9. The nerd vs the jock? Suffice to say, I'm on the side of the former. These former players -- even star players -- just don't have the tactical nous to succeed in today's game. They don't think about the game in the same way. It doesn't mean Frank can't develop it, but he's not going to get there in a mere couple of years, on-the-job, when there is a Tuchel-type character who's studied the ins and outs of the game for decades. We're very lucky with Gerrard. He clearly has a vision, but he's also brought along coaches (Beale) that can help him implement it. SG also brought the experience of McAllister. He also did a couple of years at the Liverpool Academy to get a feel for it. It's a miracle.
  10. I think Tuchel will get more out of that squad.
  11. I don't understand the reaction? There seems to be a consensus that Lampard shouldn't have been sacked, that he's unlucky, had difficult circumstances (which is true, I Suppose), that it's just the Chelsea model etc. I thought he was shite. Chelsea had some good moments where they ground out results, but that was fleeting. The majority has been pretty average. There's also been no progress, despite buying some top talent.
  12. Agreed. Ooh... Howe at Newcastle could be good.
  13. Sounds like he's shoehorned into Aberdeen's dreadful style. Do you think he might suit our style better? (I've not seen their games, and have no desire to do so. )
  14. Good business. Wouldn't mind getting him early.
  15. Hibernian 0 - 1 Rangers FGS Kent
  16. Maybe not, but it's not therefore a "concern". Ideally, you want someone to play hundreds of games, but we then couldn't afford them. This is the opportunities of scouting. You have to look at their individual circumstances. Simpson's been part of a PL team for the last 5 years, with a very stable and successful back 4 (including a £40M player in Ake), so is he really expected to play more games? He's clearly been kept around and played a handful of games in the PL because they felt he had talent. This is the opportunity for us: getting a player, cheaply, who has the ability to play in the PL, but hasn't quite managed to, due to circumstances. Goldson was the same (around 30 games in 3 years at Championship level).
  17. https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/19032658.jack-simpson-rangers-eddie-howe-said-bournemouth-ace-huge-potential/ I think Bournemouth players are really well coached. They've been instilled with a good work-ethic, while also being exposed to the more technical side of the game. Howe always tried to play the game the right way.
  18. Ofoborh looks to be one for the future, although he may be able to do a job now (in terms of squad depth) if we're looking to do a deal now. There won't be too much pressure or expectation on him. For me, Simpson is the interesting one: he's 24, and by a few accounts he's played very well for Bournemouth this season (until being taken out the squad when the Cardiff bid came in). I believe he's a left-footed, ball-playing CB. He's more like someone who can come in now and play. It suggests Katic is still out for a while or surplus to requirements, and/or Edmundson is surplus to requirements.

  21. [FT] 5-0. Pretty pleased with that. When can still play better.
