Kamberi is the striker; it is his natural position, despite being played elsewhere for Hibs. 

Yeah, Stewart's really not a striker. 

I'd define him as a second-striker - which no one really utilises, so he's played wide or in attacking midfield. 

I'm looking forward to this, which is strange because our form has not been good, and it is a tough game, usually.  It's amazing what a new face does to your outlook.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new guys -- do you think they'll play a part?

Not very, I'd suggest. 

He's been on the bench for the last couple of games, and the Belgian league must have had a winter break because there's not been a league game for a few weeks. 

I hope he makes the bench tomorrow, though!

There was a little clip of Hagi in training this morning.

Barasic was chatting to him, so he must be his welcome 'buddy'. 

Could it be Kamberi and Vydra, or one or the other?

Vydra was hot property several years ago, when he played for Watford. 

He's a superb goalscorer in the Championship, but hasn't been able to continue that in the PL -- which should be fine for us.

Glasgow Rangers FC[edit]

Vydra signed for Glasgow Rangers on loan until the end of season 2020. He stated that the lure of playing against top drawer players such as Vassoun Bayo and Boli Bolingoli -Mbombo was a deciding factor. He did express his sadness of not being able to test himself again Eboue (next Kante) Kouassi.

This is a good signing. We've been crying out for a creative, playmaker for years. 

I'm very excited. 

I'm pleased with the profile of the player too: He looks like a key piece of the puzzle, but is a good investment too. Clearly a Wilson signing. 

That's great but what about Hagi? Is he close to signing too?

Looking at Dykes' goals, they're all on a plate. Okay--his positioning is good, but how much space will he get when there's 12 players (  ) around him? I see him as more of a striker, target man. I will concede I have not seen much of him, so his assists -- although the number s look good -- are unknown to me. 

Kamberi looks more versatile to me; more dynamic, can score all types of goals and looks like he's a good link-up player too. His form has been terrible this season, however, and a couple have mentioned his attitude. 

I was actually thinking a couple of days ago that there must be some decent forwards playing in Scotland just now we could move for. Dykes and Kamberi -- along with Cosgrove and Long -- were the names that initially came to mind.

No, I only took League games. 

It's 8 goals in 27 if you want total goals. (I tend to skip Cup goals because it is against those types of opposition.)

Yeah -- especially on current form. 

However, I would say Kamberi is more versatile and dynamic, and a much better link-up player. Dykes is very static when you look at his goals; they're put on a plate for him, whereas Kamberi has to do a lot of work.

I'm intrigued by the forwards. They are quite similar in many ways (young, quick, tall, capable of running with the ball or in-behind, and also capable of playing in a couple of positions along the front line), so that must be the profile we're looking at -- it does remind me of Morelos, in a way.

Kamberi is younger (23), with 3 goals in 20 league appearances. He's got 3 assists this year too.

Dykes is one year older (24), with 8 goals in 18 league appearances. He has 6 assists this season. 

Neither are prolific, as Morelos was, but you would expect them to score more for us, if they are in any way successful. 

Clearly we're looking at younger players than are quick and physical, that can carry the ball, run in-behind and play in a number of positions.

They've just sold a defender to Sheffield Utd for £22M. And a couple of days ago Aston Villa signed their striker Samatta for £10M. They sold about £50M worth of talent in the summer too.

They're going to be loaded!

Outstanding player in his pomp, but too injury prone, for us. 

This has the feel of a Wilson signing. 

His wiki page says: "His father Gheorghe Hagi was a footballer."

Did anyone know that?
