For a game I was at it would probably be Edu's winner. Lovenkrands cup final winner or McCann's second in the game we won the league at the piggery.

Even as you start typing there are so many others come into your head!!!!!!

I don't want to pysh on anybodies parade, but this another Kai goal. This was a 2-2 draw at ra Piggery. Rememberded fondly by most Bears as Fallon's best game. John Fallon was Sellik's second Keeper, he allowed both Rangers goals to slip under his body that evening. He did similar in the '71/72 Scottish Cup whilst playing for 'Well. It was a replay at Ibrox after a 2-2 draw at Fir Park. We won 4-2, Fallon threw in a couple.

The Kai goal was the winner in the '66 Scottish Cup final replay, a 20 yard screamer.

    This one?

I can see it as if yesterday. In fact that’s not true. I didn’t really see it at the time either. I saw his foot go back and I saw the net bulge. The connection of foot to ball and the flight of the ball to net were too quick for what was keen eyesight then.

  5. While I think they'll edge it over the two legs, it'll be closer that it seems.

They're a counter-pressing and counter-attacking side; they do well when teams open up, but they do concede a lot of goals.

We're better when we defend in a deep block and counter, which is where most of our European goals are from.

It looked more like a situational back three towards the end (I saw Beale telling Kent to get wide): Polster tucked in, with Barisic high and wide on the left and Kent high and wide on the right -- this suits Kent, as @DMAA has been saying for a while.

Also lets us get two strikers on.

Wait a minute-- that can't be right, as we had 3 CBs on, didn't we?

    Was Polster playing in midfield?

The defence looks a shambles, the midfield is rudderless and Morelos is totally off-form.  Thankfully, we got a win but there were no other positives to take from today.

Morelos is out of form, but did he have a chance today? At the best of times he needs several chances to score from, because he's not the most clinical.

  8. I'm actually much happier with Polster's positioning: it's much higher and wider than Tavernier. Tavernier is always coming onto the ball from deep, which makes it easier to deal with for defenders.

Right on cue: we give the ball away sloppily to give them a chance out of nothing.

I agree with that to a certain extent, but if these players can't do it, we cannot tolerate it.  We have to put on the younger players.  This isn't just a blip, this is a persistent car crash and Gerrard is just watching it.  He has to demonstrate that he sees there's a problem and change the players.

It's certainly more than a blip, but we all know these players are capable of better.

I completely agree: drop them. But, then Gerrard runs the risk of playing squad players and youngsters -- he'll get slaughtered for that too.

    It's a nightmare.

I saw the team sheet and followed through with my threat of not watching.  However, I couldn't help but check on Gersnet at half time.  @Rousseau, this is what we have said almost every week this year.  I really thought I was the most optimistic bear on this site but the team has lost me, as has the manager now.  What is it that you think will change?  You're watching the same players do the same things.  I admire your persistence, but I just can't bring myself to waste any more time watching this garbage.  I thought Gerrard was the guy I wanted in charge for a long time, but if we don't get him help from someone more experienced it's only a matter of time before he goes.  The sad thing now is that I think I'll be relieved.

I'm not saying it's good enough; far from it.

I just feel like we do create some openings -- I'm not saying they are good chances or enough -- only to show a complete lack of quality.

Today we've had a couple of long range shots hit straight at the 'keeper. If they go in, or make the 'keeper work and bit more, it changes the game.

    But, we look hopeless.

Another game, another clear penalty not given. Defender clearly handles ball from a Polster cut back and neither the well positioned referee nor the “couldn’t possibly have not seen it” linesman made the right call, as usual.

And now Morelos is the bad guy for complaining.
