Yesterday's match at Brighton one goal chopped off by a man analysing the game with cross hairs another a penalty given after the referee waved play on only to change his mind because the hidden official says he thinks it's a penalty,  they are all running scared of referee supervisor Mike Dean in case they get stood down the only one who should be stood down is Dean himself.

    Salah was offside.

Robertson clips the attacker, Referee misses it and VAR cleans it up. The Referee is made aware of the potential penalty and he goes across to view the screen, and makes the call. Soft? Maybe, but it's the Referee's call.

VAR worked the way it was supposed to.

    What's the issue?

  2. Crystal Palace annoy me.

Crystal Palace are one of those clubs that always show me up. Whenever I want them to lose, they win; whenever I want them to win, they lose.

They get a lot of plaudits for taking points of better teams, but then... lose to Newcastle?!

  3. I'm surprised, but we did get a few Correct Scores.

Very close call between Arfield & Tavernier. Arfield just edges it for me! Overall a great team performance but.....did Balagun give anybody else the jitters on a couple of occasions? ? Or was it just me??

    Yes.

He took too many risks -- or, at least a couple.

As I said in the match thread, it's completely unnecessary; his normal game is more than adequate.

Great team performance all round, Arfield was outstanding, however Tav has been fantastic this season and in the EL and he is leading the team with his performances, goals & assists so for that reason I am going with Tav.

It's Man of the Match, not Man of the Season

    Get it changed. :D

Hmmm, has to be Tav for me I think.  The guy is just incredible in terms of his contribution this season.

A wee word for Hagi who, despite a couple of loose passes in the las few mins, looked sharp and dangerous when he came on after not featuring much lately.

    Boring.

  7. 16 players I had to type in.

Looking at them, such is the quality, I can't distinguish between first-team and squad players.

    That's incredible.

Maybe Itten, but mainly because he's still new and the lads in front don't really deserve to be dropped. However, Itten can still be a starter now, and has started a couple to good effect.

  8. What are your thoughts, folks?

There wasn't a failure amongst them, but I thought a few had brief moments of magic then drifted out without being poor. Like Kent, who made a lively start, misses a one-on-one, scores a beauty then drifts out of it. Even Roofe pops up with moments of magic, then drifts out of it. Then again, their overall team contribution was superb.

I thought players like Tavernier, Jack, Goldson and Arfield were the most effective and efficient throughout.

Arfield was at the heart of everything, again: His work-rate is phenomenal, working hard in defense and closing down then bursting forward to support attacks. He topped off a good display with a goal, with a bit of luck.

    Arfield gets it, for me.

It was another good, solid team performance, though, not dependent on any single player, which I find pleasing.
