A gifted chance is still a chance. I'm not getting carried away with the win, though: Nice were all over the place at the back.

It's all about the game state. We let them have the ball in the second half to counter attack so their possession is no surprise. It's neither good nor bad; depends what you do with it. The shots on target was similar (7 - 8 in our favour). Again it's what you do with it, which is where xG comes in: 1.26 - 2.56, showing we created the better chances, and, of course, we took them.

If we're clever this could be a cricket score.

Why are our players so stupid?

Yes, Dessers and Tavernier have been seeing less gametime. He doesn't seem happy with them. I still think he'll want to get a better look at Danilo. It's whether he can stay fit, though.

@CammyF is going to have a heart attack...

I think we need to move on from the mindset of having to 'rebuild' with every manager. We have a Director of Recruitment (and a Sporting Director, hopefully) and must let him do his job. It is his job - with the manager's input - to build the squad. Any new manager will need to be the best fit for that structure.
