I think Bajrami is doing a very good job on McGregor.

I know it's not what you mean but no he doesn't: he underperforms his xG by a significant amount.

I was only speaking for myself. Yes, because his overall play is detrimental to the team. He may score some goals, but when he does the rest of the team doesn't. That is just my opinion. We've been an anomaly under Clement, Beale and GvB.

We score more goals when Dessers doesn't play. That was based on every game played this season. I agree. He needs to play in a very specific system - he's only really a penalty box striker - to get the best out of him. As it stands at the moment we don't have a way of doing that. Saying that, I don't think it is right to build an entire side around one player - and that's not specific to Dessers. As a team we are better with Danilo and/or Igamane. Yes, the rumours were that he wanted to sell Dessers but Dessers refused.

You were the one that brought up a change in tactics. The only point I made was that I think we play better as a team when Dessers doesn't play, which I've tried to back up with some data.

If that was the case we'd have only one more player scoring, whereas we actually see 2-3 (?) more players scoring. I don't think our tactics have changed - which I've mentioned before - we just finally had players more suited to that style.

That's certainly true, but the point remains: we have more scorers when Dessers doesn't play.

That's my point: too few goals scored. My conclusion differs as I see Dessers being a big part of the problem, as shown by the above stats.

Over the last month (since Dessers has been dropped) we've had 7 different scorers. Over the month of November (when Dessers was always playing) we had 3 different scorers. You have to cover August - November to get 6+ different scorers when Dessers plays. We just seem like a better team when he doesn't play.

I disagree. I don't think 13 league goals conceded is anything to worry about. The thing making it an issue is we can't score. (We still need defensive cover: we're down to bare bones.)

Dessers' goalscoring is not the issue. The issue is his overall game is detrimental to the effectiveness of the team. He has modern ideas on the implementation of a recruitment model. I still don't think he's ready to step up to DoF which is why I was annoyed with his promotion. We need another DoF.
