I do like Sands, but I don't quite think he's worth the money. If we could re-negotiate to shave a million or two off the price I'd take him.

Oh, really? I remember reading about when he signed and I recall him playing right in a back three. Maybe that was just the author's judgement on his best position? He definitely suits playing further forward (CDM) or with cover.

Sands' preferred position is actually right in a back-three; that's where he was at his best for NY.

I thought Sands was clear to win that ball easily. I'm still confuses why he went through him.

That's a McGergor mistake, surely? I was worried he was standing too far to the left, and the lad still puts it past him on that side. Poor.

I've always thought that we need an #8; someone to provide creativity and a goal-threat from deep. Recently, though, I've been thinking that a 'keeper (a sweeper 'keeper) would really solve a lot of defensive problems, while also helping us play out from the back.
