  1. Not only have we been playing with two up front for weeks (months, even), we did do something different today. We looked to be playing a 3-1-4-2 in attack. We discussed it at half-time (see page 8 above). The structure is irrelevant, for me. It's the principles of play that are not working: there's no movement, the passing is slow and unsure, there's no intent. It'll be the same whether it's a 4-4-2, 4-3-3 or 3-5-2.
  2. And, more importantly, a maximum in the GPL.
  3. To be fair, none of our forwards done anything for the majority of the game because they were not given anything; no service whatsoever. It was only when we went a bit more gung-ho that our forwards had something to work with - Alas! Lammers had been taken off just prior.
  4. I'll tell you what, Barisic and Tavernier we're f*cking anonymous in that game. Useless.
  5. Low scores, but FGS give a fair few a good boost. Correct Result (1 pt): Everyone who entered. Correct Number of Rangers Goals (1pt): compo and r_s. FGS (2 pts): compo, BEAR, Devil, Stew, Dado, One, Yorkie, DJ, SBG, T-1000, r_s and TB. Correct Score (3 pts): - compo and SBG pull away a little. Latest Standings:
  6. Is this Ianis? He's playing like Gheorghe!
  7. The half-time tea must have been laced with something! We're ... attacking!
  8. What a ball from Dowell - almost Pirlo-esque in the deep-lying playmaker role...
  9. I like a 'keeper that comes out. That's a free shot with McGregor last season.
  10. Was Lammers actually playing? Anonymous.
  11. I could actually be correct with my first choice as FGS - before I changed it...
  12. It's a back-four on paper, definitely, but Yfeko is staying back, while Sterling is much higher. Cifiuentes is central, but he's a little further forward than Lundstram. Dowell is central too, but the majority of the time he's in the left half-space. We're not far apart, there. However, Matondo is playing on the left, bud...
  13. Not exactly, but it's something like it. Yfeko is definitely staying deeper to create a rough back-three. Lundstram is the #6. Matondo and Sterling are wide, with Dowell and Cifuentes behind the two strikers. Roughly a 3-1-4-2. Very rough. It's certainly different to what we're used to. What are you seeing?
  14. Dowell just looks so cumbersome to me. That's why I keep saying, let him play as the #6, where he can use his passing in front of teams. He's got good ball control, too.
  15. You're trying too hard. It's Tamundo. Partly, you're correct, but the ball is fired so far above everyone that nothing would come of it even if they did anticipate.
  16. I like that MB is trying something different, here, in terms of structure. It looks like a 3-1-4-2, a la Nagelsmann's Hoffenheim. It's great to see. I still think it's our principles that are letting us down: we're not moving, we're not firing the ball into feet, we're not linking up. Without those principles, the structure is pointless.
  17. I feel for the strikers: they've had nothing. Dessers had to create a sublime attempt himself.
