If we were told at the end of last season that we'd sign all these forwards, we would have been delighted. I don't think they're all bad forwards: we're just not using them properly, IMO.

I think Butland has been the best thus far. He's just slotted right in. I think Danilo will come good.

No league for GvB - and I've always said he just built on what Gerrard put in place. Gerrard was consistently good in Europe. Domestically sub-par. Overall a success. I did want him sacked at the end, though.

I can't really remember too well how well we did in Europe, but: Gerrard, McLeish, Dick, Walter. Domestic titles; decent runs in Europe. They're successful until they aren't. I probably would've sacked them all sooner than they were.

What's point 1? How many successful teams have we had? There's no objective answer.

I just don't agree with your premise that it's either/or. You're just giving us an unrealistic either/or scenario with hugely limited parameters and definitions. We should be aiming for trebles and getting good runs (CL group stages or EL group stages and a round or two) in Europe. Actually, I'll simplify it more: aim for trebles and CL or European football after Christmas.

It's not either / or. It's both.
