To be honest, experienced, successful managers are out of our league for the most part. We really need to look for up-and-coming, talented coaches. And then - you're correct - you need the structure in place to make the most of that.

I think they are a bit old-school in their thinking, in regards to managers, etc. I also don't think they were brave enough in the powers they gave to the DoF - and as a corollary, our DoF didn't have the skills that we need. Allen was the builder, which was necessary; Wilson was the operations man, which was perhaps not what we needed - not without without use or value. I think we now really need a recruitment specialist in our DoF.

Possibly, but it doesn't mean they're bad coaches. I mean, DeZerbi (Brighton!) failed at Palermo after leaving third-tier Foggia. I rate Potter, Glassner and Hassenhutl quite highly. Garcia has Red Bull experience, too.
