  1. I thought maybe you thought he was off to AFCON already.
  2. Butland Tavernier - Goldson - Souttar - Yilmaz Dowell - Lundstram Wright - Cantwell - Sima Lammers
  3. We need referees mic'd up, or a review show like the one with Howard Webb. I doubt our referees ever agree, though, as it will just show up their incompetence.
  4. He's active; he's offside. I don't recall clearly, to be honest. Soft. I was more annoyed at Dessers not cutting across the defender and giving him the opportunity to get back.
  5. To suggest they are doctoring images is mental. Par for the course. It wasn't a penalty. (It should have been given by the Referee, but would have been ruled out for offside.) Johnstone should have been sent off for three bookable offences. Bernardo was lucky to stay on the pitch, but it wasn't bad. I don't have an issue with it.
  6. This is becoming ridiculous.
  7. It wasn't missed: they didn't check it, because they didn't have to; they decided it wasn't a penalty. Only if a penalty was given would they check the offside. Your source isn't wrong per se, it is just missing a lot, from my brief reading.
  8. I assume they need cover for Robertson and Tsimikas, who are both out. That's promising. Would be good to keep an eye on him.
  9. @RANGERRAB @CammyF IFAB: 'The categories of decision/incident which may be reviewed in the event of a potential ‘clear and obvious error’ or ‘serious missed incident’ are: [...] b. Penalty kick/no penalty kick • attacking team offence in the build-up to the penalty incident (handball, foul, offside etc.) • ball out of play prior to the incident • location of offence (inside or outside the penalty area) • penalty kick incorrectly awarded • penalty kick offence not penalised'
  10. "[i.e.] a goal [or a penalty]", surely?
  11. Have you got a source for all these VAR releases? I'd love to see them. Most of this mess is coming from fans and 'journalists' pushing controversy, IMO.
  12. We really need to get the Referees mic'd up.
  13. Fair enough - I wasn't sure. The penalty wasn't ruled out for offside; they didn't check offside. They just decided it wasn't a penalty. I disagree, but I don't think it's an issue.
  14. Dermot Gallagher, a professional referee for over 20 years, doesn't know what he's talking about? OK. Edit: I actually think I might be wrong - I think Dermot says that Collum (VAR) decides its no penalty and that it's a bye kick because it comes off Sima, not the Referee. I can see why the Referee should have been asked to have a look. That's fair. It's irrelevant anyway because of the offside, but at the very least it's incompetence again - which is nothing new with our Referees.
  15. That's what Dermot Gallagher said on Ref Watch.
  16. The Referee thinks it's no penalty, then that the ball bounces off Sima, hence bye kick. VAR checks the penalty, seeing that it's not 'wrong' (I disagree with this). If the penalty is given, then VAR would need to check the attacking phase of play, which would have ruled it out as offside. I don't see the cheating.
  17. I don't know. It's a handball, but that doesn't mean it's a penalty. The Referee did make that decision; VAR just backed him up because it's not wrong.
  18. I don't think VAR did release it; SKY did. I don't know why - probably to show that it wouldn't have mattered what the Referee gave on the pitch; it would have been offside anyway. Where's the cheating? Because the Referee made a decision we disagree with? That's childish. Even if you remove all the offside stuff and focus on the penalty, it's not an egregious decision, IMO. I do think the Referee was wrong, but, like I said elsewhere, if that goes against our defender I'd be furious. It's just incompetence.
  19. That's fair enough. It's just how it looked to me. Like I said, I still think it should have been awarded.
  20. I didn't say 'the decision to award a penalty for handball is purely subjective'. I said it 'has a level of subjectivity to it'.
