I think it would make it a lesser competition. It would be the same few teams every year. Unless they made it a pure knock-out to throw in some danger, but the big clubs won't take that risk.

I actually quite like that level of engagement, but not one ultra coming down from the stands. It helped Lyon - along with the change of manager - pull away from the relegation zone; they were struggling and now are comfortably mid-table.

I posted a video of the Lyon fans berating the players a wee while ago. They were still in the stands, though...
