Very Lucky Liverpool last night. They were played off the park for most of the match. Especially the opening spell in the game. You get the feeling that if that had been us in Liverpool's shoes we would have lost the dreaded away goal early doors. I think if the Belgians had scored in that spell/ Pool would have really struggled to pull the 2 goals back

I don't know if it's such a good thing if I'm honest. How many times have our players been injured on International Duty.... a good few spring to mind. It's good for the players to represent their country, but has its downfall as far as the Club is concerned i think

Where has all the worry about Broadfoot come from all of a sudden? He hasn't done too badly playing at RB so far for me. Anytime Whittaker has played there he looks shaky and takes too many chances trying to dribble out of defence. Also the suggestion of Dailly by someone( can't remember who now!) - give me a break. Imagine Dailly up against Mcgeady or Maloney. Frightening isn't the word. I have to say I'm not that confident going into this game.
-
What annoys me is we keep getting told "The Old Firm get all the decisions" From where I'm sitting theres only one half of the Old Firm getting the decisions:ffs: Then they say "these things even themselves out" We'll need to play out of our skin next week to beat the 14 Men at the Piggery

These are the types of games we failed to win last year. If we're serious about getting OUR Title back we have to win these games this season. We all know the sheep will be up for it so we have to match them. Lets get into them from the start:rfc:

I agree the likes of Fleck Furman and Lennon are in the same boat. On a more positive note we should be sending some more of the kids out on loan like we have done with Lennon. That gets them regular games and allows us to have a look at them at the same time. It worked with Adam to a certain degree when he went to St Mirren although he has since faded badly

Chelsea were excellent while Man U really struggled against the Magpies. Man U drew their first home game last year though also and still went on to win the Title

Nothing much to fear from Parkhead then Guys? I never watched it - they always win when I watch them. Lucky Bassas
-
Nothing new there then

Sounds like a decent bit of business. Have to say I'm delighted we have signed Edu and Mendes with maybe either Davis/Bresciano or BOTH on the way too. It also annoys me a little though - should this all not have been done before the CL qualifiers??
-
This is an absolute joke. How many more players are they going to get that we want?
-
Yip sounds good, but the cynical side of me can't see him being thrown straight into the team by WS. I hope I'm proved wrong.....I'd still ike to see a RB and another midfield player though
-
Apparently he winked at McPherson after he gave it too:wanker:
-
FFS Signing a midfielder was a priority BEFORE barry got injured. Surely it's a must now? Or will we just bring in another couple of strkers instead:ffs:

There might not turn out to be any truth in the 'Pool rumour but I still think Cuellar will be sold. If we get a bid in the rgion of 10M then thats a big profit we will have made on the lad. Only problem would be then is finding a couple of decent players that would still want to come to Ibrox after our Euro exit. Going by WS's transfer record this summer the money would go towards a Striker or a goalkeeper instead of sorting the problem positions - mind you there are a few of those!!
-
PLG should have walked before he was - eventually - sacked. I was right behind WS coming back and I think he did a good job, but his tactics in Europe are boring and negative and his loyalty to certain players is beyond a joke.- Dailly for one and Mr Adam for another. The only problem I see is - who would want to come being realistic??
-
Those two are both the types of player we desperately need, but can't see either happening especially not Fletcher. We wouldn't be the only ones interested if he was available for loan
-
Your luck with tjhat has to run out some time......................
-
We won't need to bother about it if last night's performance is repeated next week
-
When the guy can be arsed he can be the best at the club, but how often did he look interested last season. He had a puple patch funnily enough right round about the time Fulham were heavily linked with him. I think we should have been looking to offload him in the summer. Of course instead of this we were trying to get rid of our 'best goalscorer' in Boyd
-
I'd like to see Boyd and Velicka starting too or either of them with Novo. However I think WS will go with either Miller on his own or Cousin. I agree though that I don't think WS knows his best team. I would also bet it would vary radically from the majority of the Gersnetters 'first choice'

I agree with Cotter. I know it's only pre season but I think we have went backwards from last season and will be without our two most important players - imo- on Wednesday. I seriously think we need to waken up and realise we could struggle to get past Kaunas. No doubt the usual 4-5-1 formation will be out in force on Wednesday too.
-
I think Man U will win it again unfortunately. Interesting to see how Scolari fares. Can't see Liverpool challenging for anything apart from a CL spot. I think Spurs could break into the 'big four' although that might depend on if they can hold onto Keane and Berba
-
I thought Lafferty was out of the Kaunas games? I'd like to see Velicka get a chance when the season starts. Looks fairly promising although we haven't seen a lot of him
-
I was speaking about that to someone at the weekend. He used to hide - at times - when he played on the left and although he was good up front especially alongside Buffel for a spell - we hardly need another Striker at the current time. A year down the line if Cousin and say maybe Darcheville are out the door the I would take him back, but not at present
