  1. Pulling no punches. Good work! Its really a bizarre decision. I felt that Mather would need to get behind the next regime if he was to stand a chance of surviving. Given that he spoke positively about Jim McColl on BT Sport pre-match on Friday, I thought we were beginning to see a path being forged from Charles Green's wreckage. But with the MH being appointed, presumably by the Easedales, it shows that Mather is powerless to stop all this nonsense. The sooner we have a general meeting the better. I'd now like to see McColl escalate things and renege on this verbal agreement to roll the EGM into the AGM. We cannot afford for this shower to have control for any longer than is absolutely necessary.
  2. No bother chaps. Enjoy the game.
  3. It would be insane for the club to ignore smartphones as a channel for marketing the club's products and services. That and the potential advertising revenues that could potentially be generated. I'd fancy (hope?) there's a sound business case behind the decision that allows us to recoup the investment over a period of time, and for it to become a source of profit.
  4. I've sent him a message on twitter...
  5. The negotiating points on both sides are not likely to be straightforward. - Removal of Mather from the Board would be effectively sacking him as CEO as his position would be untenable. He has been publicly backed by the likes of Ally and Walter, so may well survive if he is seen as credible to investors. Sacking him would likely cost money we can ill afford to lose, and this may contribute to him remaining. - Removal of Smart as non-exec. We know little about his performance although I've read it suggested that his attendance at Board meetings is poor (at least, attendance in person). Perhaps he doesn't have the time to devote to the role, so he may be looking for an exit himself, but has perhaps not felt that he could given all of the turmoil of recent months. Removing all traces of the previous Board may be seen as desirable to some, but some form continuity would be preferable, even if Smart doesn't stay long term. - Removal of Stockbridge. His public profile has nosedived pretty much since it was revealed he took the video of Malcolm Murray, but particularly during the Q&A the other week. However, similar to Mather, getting rid of him will cost us money, and if he is prepared to get behind whatever new regime is established, he may survive by the skin of his teeth. - Although the Board have indicated they would be happy to accept Blin's appointment, we are actively looking to appoint a new Chairman. Its been suggested that Blin would be ideal, and I'd agree, but we have no idea whether this is something he'd be prepared to take on. - The alternative is that we look for someone else to take on the role of Chairman, but this isn't necessarily an easy task. We clearly need someone with a thick skin who is not only prepared for the flak that comes in the role, but someone who has gravitas and is able to manage the various personalities involved along with investors. Given the timescales involved, finding someone who ticks all the boxes for the role is tough.
  6. Bottom line is that its Rangers first. And if PM can demonstrate that he has the time, funding and commitment to play a positive role on the Board, then I'm not against it happening. My impression of PM is that he is a fan and wants to help. He may not be perfect, but I think its unlikely that he would not acknowledge some of his past mistakes; with TBK in particular. But you cannot say he didn't warn us about Whyte, and you cannot deny that he played a role in stewarding the club whilst it paid down a large chunk of its debt during the period of his non-exec appointment. [NB - I know full well that Lloyds were holding a gun to our heads, but thats not the point I'm making] He's been prepared to stick his head above the parapet, to put his hand up and try and do something to protect/save the club, and all he gets in return is ridicule and accusations. All too often amongst our support we see people who are prepared to put their hand up get accused of having agendas, of using the status to line their pockets, and all manner of other unhelpful distractions. For the time being I'm content to see how this EGM business pans out. And I would urge the McColl group to continue doing their business behind closed doors if they want to maximise their chances of success.
  7. Seems like he has had plenty of chances to sort out his attitude and commitment. He wont get much sympathy.
  8. I'm encouraged to hear his moderate views but a watching brief is required.
  9. This is encouraging. I really don't want McColl or his group to speak out whatsoever until matters are concluded, one way or the other. By not speaking to any press outlets, it allows the likes of Green/Ahmad/Jack Irvine to be shown up for what they are. Engage in their tactics and you'll be tarred with the same brush.
  10. I should add also, that we wont be ready until both sides are ready to compromise or put their differences to the side.
  11. Agreed. What's missing is trust between the club and the SFA, and trust between the club and the media (particularly some sections). We are undoubtedly weary after constant battling over the past two years, and I don't think we are ready to let bygones be bygones. And we wont be until the governance of the club is settled, and we all get back to enjoying the fitba. The way this thing is going, its definately going to be years, rather than months.
  12. This really is the height of stupidity. If he's guilty, and if its a sackable offence... the writing is on the wall for him.
  13. Oh FFS. Just when he was starting to string together some decent performances...
  14. Well that is certainly an encouraging statement from Laxey. In this case it seems that the motives of supporterx and institutional investors are aligned.
  15. Hard to tell. Seems to me they are in it for the long haul, but my guess is that it will be on their terms, rather than that of the club or fans.
  16. The bit about them setting up 100 different companies in order to get a particular resolution onto the company's AGM agenda is the bit puts the icing on the cake. Basically, if we McColl et al get their own way and gain overall control of things, and we seem to then move into a period of stability, if Laxey don't like it they'll go to any length to get their voice heard, no matter the significance of their shareholding. More boardroom turmoil is ahead, methinks
  17. Regardless of whether or not they have legitimite concerns about this discounted share business, their shareholding was around 1.7% around 2011, at that time this issue had been going for a year or two, and is still going on today as far as I can see.
  18. I don't profess to be an expert. This is perhaps why I'm a bit wary of them. But they are known as 'rebel investors', and the following is taken from a Telegraph article in 2011:
  19. Whilst we hope their intentions are good, I point everyone again to their actions in relation to Alliance Trust. A quick google search shows how much of an impact they can have with a minority shareholding if they don't like the way things are being managed. Colour me anxious about their involvement.
  20. Perhaps it has something to do with the length of travel required? Say, if the team requires to travel more than 90 minutes by coach then they stay overnight to minimise the risk that sitting around for long periods on a coach might cause or aggravate ailments or injuries? I don't know, and I'm just guessing, but I'd imagine they want to maintain player routines as much as possible regardless of where they are playing. The other aspect could be that it helps to build/maintain team spirit.
  21. Aye, I was just about to comment similar. It appears on the face of it to be a technicality, a procedural mistake. Likely that they are covering their arses given the level of obsessive complaints received...
  22. A measure of the Easdale's judgement must surely be their employment of Jack Irvine. This EGM can't come quick enough.
  23. Not sure as I haven't read these ones. But I'm sure it's probably this Charlotte fakes character on twitter.
  24. The banks concerned will definately have money laundering systems and processes designed to detect suspicious transactions. It is for the bank to investigate and take action, not Rangers. If the bank was concerned that money laundering had occurred then they are legally obliged to take action. If they are merely suspicious of money laundering, but cannot determine whether this was actually the case, they will report to various authorities on the matter who may be gathering evidence about the individuals and organisations concerned. Its a bit of stetch from Leggo, although I'm sure this is the implication of the letters referred to, so he's just reporting on the leaked documents.
  25. This is really encouraging. Some light amongst the fog. If McColl's team are successful, this could be our opportunity to get something like this in place. Especially if, as Frankie says, the club is/was genuinely looking into it also.
