  1. Can we not just have an EGM and sort this stuff out quickly? Losing the will to live with this stuff now.
  2. Theoretically it should be security services at cost price, with appropriate inter-company charges.
  3. They also need to have a Nominations Committee. ** ** no sniggering at the back
  4. Agreed. But the longer this negotiation continues, the less I'm convinced of the strength of McCollco's hand.
  5. He already the Chair of two public bodies (Scottish Funding Council and Skills Development Scotland), as is also Executive Chairman of NQC Ltd. I'd fancy he's not well placed to take up such a high profile and demanding position at this time.
  6. Compromise might not be preferable, as suggested by McMurdo, but is perhaps the most likely outcome when you consider the various delays. Also, given McMurdo has access to GreenCo and Media House, I'd fancy he knows more than he is letting on about the ongoing negotiations. I do though think that McMurdo should make it clearer whether he is writing his blog in a paid capacity. In the interests of transparency, that is.
  7. Per the IPO prospectus, IIRC, its a wholly owned subsidiary of the club. Green and Stockbridge are listed as Directors but my guess is that its in an ex-officio capacity (i.e. by virtue of their positions, or in Green's case his previous position, at the club. I'm hoping that the audited accounts and/or companies house filings clear this up. I'd be astonished if Green was still active in the company.
  8. Hutton was showing up well in pre-season, and was a standout in the early matches IIRC. That might earn him another chance this season. But for me, its his last.
  9. # 1 & 2 I'd agree don't make sense. And I can't see #4 being true either. Threaten the board with leaking of information then he will quickly find himself in court, I'd fancy. And his business would be in ruins. I'm inclined to think more along the lines of #3 based on current information. Irvine has not previously been a big part of the story, or at least not in a way that is gaining mainstream attention. When the spotlight is focusing on you, you can often react in ways that you might otherwise say are out of character.
  10. To be fair, that's kind of what I said! Some continuity is preferable, but if none of the current Board are up to the job then reluctantly I'd agree.
  11. He's also prepared to identify where things can improve, and isn't too stubborn to recognise that the likes of Wallace is capable of performing at that level.
  12. McAusland impressed on Saturday, and generally this season at right back. But for me he looks more like a centre half given his height. I'd too would be happy with Mohshni, Pandza, Faure and Jig, with McAusland and Gasparotto as backups. Saying that, Gasparotto needs to be loaned out to get first team experience. There is no point in him spending this season on the bench as he's clearly ready for that level of involvement, even if he is not a starter for us yet.
  13. Recognition for his performances this past couple of years. Starting to really appreciate Strachan as the Scotland manager, as compared against the likes of Craig "6-4-0" Levein.
  14. Okay, so whilst we wait, what's the ideal outcome of this whole situation? I'll kick things off... 1) Appointment of a strong independent Chair 2) Appointment of at least 4 new non-executives with plc experience, including Frank Blin 3) Removal of Stockbridge from an official Board position. 4) Full review of the senior management team to be conducted, preferably by Blin. Then leading to potentially replacing Mather and Stockbridge with high calibre individuals of proven experience I could be persuaded of arguments for or against any of the above, but what else would you want? Or what would you want different?
  15. Cribari has certainly looked more solid this season but I agree, he's one we could easily cope without. Can someone text Jim White and ask him to start some rumours that there are clubs interested in buying him? That might spark some other club to actually make a bit and we can get rid of him. We can certainly dream, at least.
  16. I'm about 75% through the book. Its been really good so far.
  17. Let us know how you get on...
  18. The more I see and read from and about Mather only serves to reinfoce my view that he is not capable of the job. A diligent manager and likeable chap he may be, but someone capable of being the figurehead of our club? Not for me.
  19. Another olive branch by McColl? Lets see what Mather says next. Last couple of times he's issued a lengthy statement rubbishing his alleged or actual detractors.
  20. Writing was on the wall for him so am glad we've got rid. Wonder how much he's taken as a pay-off though?
  21. Don't disagree with any of your reply calscot. I should have been clearer in saying I was playing devil's advocate in some of the points made. It's a Pavlovian response that seems to happen when discussing the squad, it's size and our wage bill. I've consistently argued that we are playing a half and half strategy. We can't afford just to get by with players on no more that's £500-£1000 pw because this increases the risk that we don't win promotion considerably, and to a level that no one would find acceptable. At the same time as securing players that will ensure we gain promotion easily, we also need to invest in developing a squad that will allow is to at least compete on terms with premiership teams when we return. If we don't, and merely scrape through the divisions, it will be a very large gap in quality to bridge, and one that will take perhaps a couple of years to fix. If we did go down that route, i can picture the transfer negotiations for every player we try and sign. The selling club, knowing we have a wad of cash will drive up the price and the self-same moaners about overpaying players in the lower leagues will bemoan the inflated costs of rebuilding the team. It's a classic no-win scenario.
  22. Its a balancing act between long term and short term priorities. Unfortunately Ally's utterances about never doing any long term planning played to the worst fears of our support. I felt that we should assess the squad at the end of the transfer window rather than continually saying we should not sign new players. However, we cannot ignore that we do have a bloated squad containing players that are unlikely to survive beyond our foray in the lower divisions. And for that reason I think its understandable that a number of fans have questioned why we need even more players. I accept that Ally is trying to move players on, and I've no doubt that we have tasked some agents with this very remit. However, I can't also cant help but feel that most players won't move unless their contracts are paid out.
  23. Seems pretty clear he's been told to trim the squad if he wants to add some fresh blood. No doubt some pay-offs in the offing. *sigh*
  24. I'd contribute, yes. But like has been suggested, I hope McColl escalates matters quickly.
