The Summer 2023 Rangers Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread
stewarty replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
My guess is they'll stop paying him after a few months and he might even be looking to get out from January. -
Apologies, m'lord.

Player of the Season - Goldson (what a boost he gave us when he re-signed, and it was only Souttar's return to fitness that plugged the gap properly when he was out) Biggest Flop - Roofe (so much promise, yet so often strains his vagina) Most Improved - Barisic Unsung Hero - Tav (purely because I think he gets a lot of unfair criticism from some) Best Signing - Cantwell

Whats the edgelord phrase for this... hopium?

Anyone see where those goalposts went??? -
I'm pure offended. 😭

Looks a bit better in person. Just popped along to the store in town and for those ordering online, its not as tight a fit as the last couple of years. XL fitted me fine over my shirt (they've no changing rooms to try it on), whereas I had to go for the XXL on last year's tops as I'm, ahem, athletically challenged.

Agreed. All roads lead to him moving on in my opinion. -

I think it was Stevie from 4Lads who wrote in his blog the other day that Kamara is one player that has been tasked with working out what he wants to do. Apparently we would be happy for him to stay and fight for his place, but he might need to reset his view on the amount of minutes he gets. Or alternatively we would be willing to do a deal on him. His agent will be assessing options, I have no doubt. -

I think with the level of squad turnover we are expecting this summer, its likely that some of our signings will be in the "horses for courses" bracket. Hopefully just a small proportion, with minimal risk in terms of fees/wages. -

You're not looking at it from a Gersnet perspective and how much we would benefit from having a man on the inside with his hand on the tiller. Frankie would get exclusives galore and we'll get you some of those squidgy stress balls to keep you calm.

Could be. There's going to be a new exec team overall so every chance there could be different structure/roles. Did you get your CV into Livingston James? 🙂

Think its Kenny Barclay this is to replace.

I'm on board, so long as its not a prelude to the new series of Kitchen Nightmares!

The thought that I've had a few times in the last few days has been just how much Gerrard's star pushed us on and also glossed over the underlying frailties in our infrastructure. Frailties that have been systematically exposed since we won 55. -
We've had our fingers burned pretty severely in the past, so some hesitance is only natural. We need to push past this though, which is where the calm heads and vision comes in. Its also only natural to ask what that vision is... our new Chairman's first proper interview will be interesting.
-
Thats maybe not as daft as you think. [Well, maybe I am...] I am both pleased/relieved that we are grasping the nettle and realising that changes were needed on multiple fronts... but also at the same time a little nervous that we aren't able to get replacements who are much different to what we have/had and we stagnate. The scale and pace of change is also easy to mess up and could unsettle some of the staff who are performing well. Celtic were able to turn things around very quickly with Fat Ange's appointment, and that will be the challenge for next season. But if it doesn't happen, it wont take long for there to be many questions about the way these changes are happening. We need calm heads and a clear vision. In Bennett we are going to have to trust.

There was reference to him developing talent as being one of his strengths. You could interpret that as suggesting he already has someone in the team ready to step up. We shall see.

Bennett making an immediate impression as Chairman. Hopefully a sign that we will start to get on the front foot as an organisation. Its long overdue.
