  1. My only beef with DK's words are in relation to the "what if you lose the EGM" question. Fair enough, he will go back to the market and buy another 5% to get it over the line next time. Why not go ahead and get that 5% now? Appreciate that he doesn't want to line the pockets of existing shareholders, and that he seems to be confident of success, just seems like he's left something to chance and it could be seized upon by Ashley and Co.
  2. I've got a mate who's got a massive collection. I'm sure he'd be interested.
  3. Words can't describe how angry and contemptuous this makes me feel...
  4. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jack-irvine-paul-murrays-more-5015233? THE Easdales have launched an astonishing attack on Paul Murray, mocking the former Rangers director and questioning his commitment to the club. A statement released by Jack Irvine, family adviser to the Ibrox club’s major shareholders, hits back at Murray for speaking out against the current regime in today’s Record Sport and savages him for being part of the board when former chairman David Murray sold the club to Craig Whyte for £1. Irvine said: “ So like an episode of The Living Dead, Paul Murray emerges from his borders lair having vowed never to return. He says he expects a smear campaign against himself and Dave King and in the same breath compares the Rangers board to Gerald Ratner. Hypocritical? You decide. “If Mr Murray and Mr King ever do get anywhere near the club they are welcome to carry out a robust financial investigation. The Easdale brothers have never taken a penny from the club and nor have they claimed any expenses. “One begins to wonder if we are not dealing with Paul McKenna as opposed to Paul Murray who appears to have hypnotised himself and his cohorts into obliterating the memory fact that they sold their beloved club for one pound. Rangers men? You decide.” In fact, former Deutsche Bank executive Murray launched an eleventh hour bid to persuade former David Murray against the Whyte deal. Forecasting the liquidation crisis which just over a year later brought the Glasgow giants to their knees, he said at the time: "In my opinion, Craig Whyte has not adequately demonstrated what his strategy is for managing and funding a negative outcome on this matter."
  5. Quite clever stuff actually. Its a constant drip of good news from the RST and RF, as well as from 3B and Dave King. The more prominent and wealth fans, ex-players, etc declare their support for change, and back this up with support for fan ownership vehicles, the greater the pressure grows on the current board. Furthermore, it increasingly isolates those who are opposed to change.
  6. However, Sandy Easdale has been acting as a shadow RIFC plc director for quite some time now. That is no more evident than the fact that it is he is the Easdale brother who speaks publically, not least of which was at the RIFC plc AGM in December. Furthermore, as King is already the executive chairman of a company listed in South Africa, for whom LSE have reciprocal listing arrangements, this is very much a moot point, and one which is designed to sling mud and attempt to delay the EGM.
  7. In simple terms, due to the way both of the companies are set up, there is no way they will be able to merge. Not without some lengthy changes to their constitutions. The differences are technical, but thats the basis of it. But at the end of the day, in the short to medium term, both are focused on raising funds for share acquisition, so ultimately have the same aim. Its not until this is achieved that the differences will matter.
  8. Its hard to get overly excited about the lad leaving, but the few games he did play at the start of last season, he looked much better than Foster has at any point. We would have been better giving him a run for the best part of a season to see if he can cut it, and at least make letting him go an informed decision.
  9. Its a no-brainer from the Board given the ongoing dip in our own attendances.
  10. It'll get batted away, I'm sure, with no real action taken. Hopefully it hampers his ability to get future roles though.
  11. Who is it that Easedale holds proxy for...? bph - 5.4% margarita - 3.2% who else, as its around 21% is it not?
  12. Ashley's power base has been destabilised. He has/had power because the likes of Somers is a "wet fish" and the easdales are puppets. He won't be able to threaten and bully the likes of Park and Letham, which in turn threatens the SD deal. there are rumours of other bears in talks to buy out other institutional shareholders. Which bodes well when the share issue happens as Ashley will only be able to take up the additional shares to maintain is 8% or so, or up to a max of 10%. also, given that the share issue has been approved by a majority of shareholders at the AGM.... I'm not sure how you conclude it won't go ahead. Although I would concede that we should brace ourselves for a response from Ashley. He's a shark and wI'll retaliate in some way. That's about the only thing I can agree with McMurdo about.
  13. Thanks. Have posted to the correct thread too, think. Zappa will correct me if I'm wrong, I'm sure.
  14. He's entitled to his opinion just as much as we are entitled to think he's a hypocritical wank. Best ignored, methinks
  15. Presume Ashley is getting some security for this £10m.... Ibrox should cover it
  16. Now now gents, it's nearly Christmas...
  17. I wonder what Deloitte think of all this. Given the current rate of cash burn, £2m short term finance that needs to be repaid at a time when our cashflow will be at its lowest point, does not make for a going concern. Talk of a share issue is all well and good but when you've only just failed to persuade existing shareholders to take up a £4m issue, why would we necessarily sell out a £10m one, regardless if its available to anyone and everyone. OK, Ashley may well underwrite the share issue, but are we under any illusions that this will happen over night? Meanwhile we limp on.
  18. Couldn't have put it any better.
  19. I for one haven't been to Ibrox this season and have no intention of doing so for the forseeable future. Nor will I be buying any club merchandise.
