RST received a very threatening & sectarian message on Facebook
stewarty replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Was it not in their accounts? I'm sure I saw something that it was, but I didn't 'fact check' it. -
Lets run a sweep to see if we can guess... I'll go for Ian Black, Marius Zaliukus, Richard Foster and Steve Simonsen.

Speirs very much aspouses to the "fling enough shite at the wall, some of it will stick" theory of forming and articulating opinions. He can then claim he held said view at one point and therefore is never wrong.
-
The only addendum I would add is that really all we can be accued of, or indeed "guilty"; is incorrectly administering a legally acceptable and commonly used tax avoidance vehicle. That's a whole lot different to "cheating". But as pointed out, that doesn't suit the bigoted narrative that has been constructed.

the £6.3m to SDM, presumably that was remuneration through MIH rather than the club? -
A Tactically Astute Performance Let Down By Poor Finishing
stewarty replied to Rousseau's topic in Rangers Chat
Wilson had a very poor game. He looks off pace (as seen by the way he was turned for their first) and lacking confidence. -
Really enjoy your game analysis, Rousseu. Cheers!

Uefa: Scottish & Polish FAs cited over Hampden incidents
stewarty replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
I was searched as entered the east stand but there were hundreds of polish fans dotted around in plain sight. It did cause a bit of bother especially after the early goal... So no surprise to see uefa raise their charge. -
Do you support the RST/RF moving forward with this outline proposal?
stewarty replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Yes - its a no-brainer for me. The combined shareholding alone would allow us to call an EGM immediately. -
Interesting discussion on the suitability for the pivot role. One thing I thought about the lad Thompson in his appearance against Burnley is that he looked like a left footed Barry Ferguson - even down to the way he moved off the ball. I note that he went straight back into the squad for the weekend after his injury in the U-20s - I'm really looking forward to him getting some first team action.

Also, the club is under a court order so cannot reveal any details about of the negotiations that they may be having.

I think undoubtedly we can argue that McCoist could have forgiven some money given how well he was paid. But the fact is that he had a contract and was within his rights to continue to see it honoured in full. I'm more interested in the negotiations with Sports Direct to be honest.

Excellent. Don't forget the less than flattering Dispatches program on Channel 4 which highlighted a range of dubious sales and operating practices adopted by SD.

Relentless Rangers refuse to take foot off the gas
stewarty replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Indeed. Full of comments from contributors such as "Justice for the face painter" and "Old firm is history". Curiously, despite the volume of posts, there's neither a solidly constructed sentence, nor a well argued point between them. -
Excellent news.

Darren McGregor joins Hibs - also Zaliukas released
stewarty replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Agree Craig. Past glories matter for nothing. Warburton has a broom to go with his hat, and unless you fit with his system, you wont play. Zaliukus will be better to move now, as he might find even harder to get a new club at a later date. -
Revised Poll for the Date of the 4th Semi Annual Gersnet Dinner
stewarty replied to BrahimHemdani's topic in Rangers Chat
My missus is now working at the weekends so pretty much kyboshes my involvement unless I get a babysitter. Will keep tabs on whatever is agreed and might be able to sort something nearer the time. -
Agreed - what an opportunity for Lang, etc. They basically know they are all competing for a first team starting position as soon as we start picking up injuries and suspensions. In other words, they are incentivised to up their performance levels. I'm guessing they are absolutely flying in training with the news that McGregor and Zaliukus are leaving/left.

Judging by the fizzing coupon Allan had when he was paraded at the San Giro, I'd say "yes". -

Some of the chat also, is that McGregor had lined up a deal with St Johnstone, which is who the club expected him to join. Seems that Hibs swooped in at the last minute and offered him a deal to join his boyhood team... And you're right, we either pay him £5-6k or whatever, per week for this year when he's unlikely to play... Thats £250k saved. -

Also, Craig from Sons of Struth posting on facebook is suggesting that we offered the same basic weekly wage (£5k), but celtic offered a bigger appearance bonus of £1500, compared with our offer of £500. Apparently the kicker to the deal was a £150k Champions League qualification bonus... and given that he didn't play and they didn't qualify, added to the fact he's not making any appearance bonus so far, shows that Celtic's deal might well work out much less overall for him. He's been badly advised, it would seem.
