Lennon was seen by their heirarchy as someone who would get the job done. And there is no doubt he is capable of motivating his team for individual fixtures. But as others have said, that intensity and bristling style eventually puts noses out of joint... which is all fine until such time as results start to go against him. And thats when I suspect things could unravel for them.

Katic was a warrior and never gave an inch all game. Was unlucky with a couple of headers at corners too. The aggro at the end of the game stemmed from one of the Legia players berating and getting into Niko's grill as we was bent over and catching his breath after the final whistle... Which led to Goldson and then both teams piling in. Clearly his physical style got to them - another reason for him getting my MOTM vote.

Aye you've got to laugh.

Does that mean agreeing with you? In all seriousness, I've only got a limited frame of reference to work with, as it seems have you. I can only say she seems quite forthright- that was the extent of my opinion.

We form judgements on people all the time. It's human nature. I was merely amused at Bill suddenly sitting on the fence because he personally has nothing to relate to Dempster. It doesn't stop him at any other point!

Those are not the only criteria for making an assessment of someone and forming a view of their competence.

Thanks. Bit of a left field selection given we usually are pretty well off in the GK department. -

Congratulations to Ryan Jack - well deserved. Who is Craig MacGilverray? -
She seems a very capable woman and a bit more forthright than Robertson. More akin to the the type of personality we perhaps need right now? Pure speculation all round though, it would seem.

Solid performance. We will give them something different to think about at home.

They've got a red card in them here.

We need to be a bit sharper defending set pieces. They're a real threat

Some outstanding play acting from Legia you have to say.

Lol. In any other circumstance I would have assumed that was a wind-up! -

I'm always baffled at our support's desire to write players off after only a game or two. Or even in some cases, before they've even kicked a ball for us. A lot of what it takes to be a success at our club is confidence and mental strength. So far, Jones has shown signs that he can embrace the challenge and step up to the standards we require. Its early days though. I think the key for Gerrard is having different types of players to suit the opposition and their tactics. Where we play against that attack us or are stronger generally, fast ball carrying counter-attackers like Jones will be invaluable. In other situations, we may need the ball playing trickery of Stewart, or the clever positioning of a (hopefully fit soon) Jamie Murphy could be better options. -
Its commendable that the club was restrained in terms of any public response but would it really have hurt them to make clear that this was what they were doing? All it did was increase tensions in our support due to the immediate anger in the days afterwards and the frankly hysterical nonsense that we saw in the media. However we all know that the MO of English and Stewart will see them pivot onto another criticism of us very quickly, or simply shrug it off and pretend it didn't happen.

I hope you promptly threw one in to compensate! -
Defoe for me, composed finishing got us in the lead and that allowed us the platform to control the game. Jack was excellent, as were Davis and Jones. Its a great Monday when you're purring about such a good performance and having put the spoon burners firmly in their place.
