  1. A poor choice of words. I was meaning that they ripped the rug from under the c1872 interviews where there was an indication from King where he said there wouldn’t be further share issues that c1872 could acquire further holding directly, and why they should buy from him
  2. That’ll do. Scrappy. Not our best. But 3 points and alfy back on it, is a good days work at our second hardest away ground.
  3. Unsurprisingly they seem to be swerving the fact that Celtic players are squad have questions to answer in terms of whether they followed the proper protocols when they were there.
  4. @FrankieDo we need to use a specific link to sign up, or is there some sort of sign-up code to use so that GN gets credit?
  5. Agree that didn't seem to make much sense and the decision making should be more transparent. Again though, clearer communication/updates would be helpful.
  6. Some observations on what I think *could* be occurring: 1) DK wants to sell his holding to the fans to protect his legacy having saved the club. His family appear not to be interested and that could potentially lead to them selling to non-fans when he is no longer around. Such investment is likely to be viewed as an opportunity to derive a return, which may or may not align to the interests of the support and thus may have a detrimental impact on his legacy. 2) C8172 are offered the chance to buy DK's shares but have knocked back the chance to take part in share issues in the last year or so, probably due to lack of significant cash reserves from donating members. Having seen the chance to acquire such a large shareholding which clearly aligns to one of the CIC's generally accepted aims/purpose, they hatch a scheme to tie in a commitment from DK to secure the shares, but also need to buy some time to promote the legacy scheme in order to drive new members and donations to fund it. The club however changed the goalposts at the AGM and subsequently afterwards, which has pulled the rug from C1872 and DK. They have then re-negotiated to maintain the commitment to acquire DK's shares, but allow them to participate directly in share issues over the coming months using the new legacy income and other donations as funding. As part of this negotiation, DK has sought a commitment from C1872 that they still are intent on acquiring his shares and this has led to the first £250k purchase announced this week. *If* this is indeed what is happening, I'm sure that it could be explained reasonably to members and would be accepted. However, my call for better and more transparent governance of C1872 remain. Until then, whispers and innuendo about the motives of the Board and associated helpers will continue to drive a wedge between C1872 and the wider support. The bottom line is that as a founding member and participant in the legacy scheme, I shouldn't have to be reading between the lines like this. We deserve better.
  7. That’s a very offensive looking team. Swap Hagi or Kent for Aribo and I think it’s spot on.
  8. Happy Christmas. Here’s to 6 points in our next 2 games!
  9. I wasn't overly enamoured by it initially but seeing it in action I thought the retro strip looked great.
  10. Antwerp sitting 7th on the same points as Standard Liege in the Jupiler League, so probably fair to assume they're of a similar level.
  11. That information isn't contained in the filing. We will need to hear from the club
  12. Let me guess, at 20p each? Edit: it is at 20p each. Thats the fourth allotment of shares in 2 months
  13. It looks to me like we have challenged him to develop his game and he has adapted reasonably well, just that he hasn't found the goal touch. Some of his performances in the EL have particularly been good, but he's lost a bit of confidence and the luck you can carry when you are playing well. I also think he's the kind of player who thrives on being the focal point of a team. He carried us for large parts of the past couple of seasons but this season particularly we have made a step change in terms of the overall quality and depth of the squad, to the point where the manager simply has more options and he isnt as critical to our ability to win games.
  14. The biggest argument I've seen as a reason for members lapsing or potential members being put off from signing up, is the perceived lack of transparency. And from a quick look at the C1872 website and a trawl of my email inbox, there are good reasons for this. Firstly, I can't see any Board meeting summaries since September 2018 published. Its not clear why this has stopped, but I noted comments from @plgsarmyelsewhere that suggest this is deliberate. Regardless, this needs to change and quickly. Furthermore, the last projects update I received was an email in October 2019. Given that was 14 months ago, members should be updated on project progress given that many will have opted for some or all of their contributions to go towards them. I for one was very supportive of the defribillator purchase in memory of Peter Derrick from the Viceroy and given the challenges thrown up by the Pandemic, I would hope there may be other project opportunities that we as a support would love to hear more about and indeed support further in terms of our time. There have been various news articles in the last year or so, but a clearer description of how member resources have been spent, is needed asap. Secondly, a lot of the noise around this scheme could be easily cleared up by holding some sort of virtual AGM to review the accounts and overall CIC progress as well as for the Board to make themselves available for questions from members. Yes there may be some costs involved to ensure they have the tech to make this work, and they'd need to think about how they can reach non-tech savvy members, but the argument for not having an AGM seems weak when many companies have had to adapt and do things in different ways due to the pandemic. With regards to Chris Graham, the nature of his involvement should be disclosed to members so that we have time to examine the benefits of this prior to any future Board elections. I've enjoyed Chris' contribution over the years and he seems like a capable guy, so I've no problem with him being involved in principle, but the nature of this relationship needs to be understood. Some other comments I've seen are that members were not consulted in relation to the purchase of shares, or rather, that we knocked back the chance. Personally, I'm open minded about this as we need to have the cash ready to go in order to take part, but we should be made aware of the circumstances. Having looked back over my emails, there was an email also in October 2019 regarding a proposed major share purchase of £500k. I may have deleted the outcome of this vote from my Inbox but I think this does somewhat contradict the suggestion that members have not been consulted. Nonetheless, the principle of a £13m share purchase must surely be something that requires more consultation before we go full steam ahead regardless of the need for confidentiality. Transparency is one of the hallmarks of good governance. And like conflicts of interest, it is essential that the appearance of transparency is protected vigorously. Otherwise it leads to rumour, innuendo and conspiracy. Many/all of these comments have already been said by others already. I say all of them as a committed member who has already signed up to make legacy contributions. I am open minded and ready to hear more about what is going on. However, to borrow a phrase from the past, we deserve better.
  15. Kamara stepped up and was a class apart - so effortless on the ball and always seems to know what’s going on around him. Itten deserves credit for his goal to get us going, a good performance from him and a number of others but has to be kamara for me.
  16. Lech Poznan 1 - 2 Rangers FGS Hagi Edited my FGS from Tav when I saw the lineup. Not sure if thats allowed - if not, please revert to Tav
