  1. We don’t half like to make things hard for ourselves. Wright’s passive mentality is really starting to grate on me now.
  2. It was crazy to lunge in like that when the ball is in a nothing area of the pitch. There was no immediate danger.
  3. What? He gives a quick opinion based on the replays he watches.
  4. Silly silly tackle, especially for an experienced player. Wasn’t a dangerous situation to warrant sliding in
  5. Huge game for Diallo. Perfect time for him to show us why Man U paid so much money for him.
  6. Apparently the hotels are also pulling a fast one with the free cancellation date being before the second leg ties... i.e. they will get a fair number that will likely cancel and the hotel will charge twice for their already inflated prices.
  7. Thats pretty much how its gone... the premiership clubs will split the cost based on league position. Presumably this will be netted off against existing prize money as there is no new funding for it. League Position Cost 1st £195,000 (16.29%) 2nd £140,000 (11.67%) 3rd £120,000 (10.03%) 4th £106,000 (8.81%) 5th £99,000 (8.21%) 6th £91,000 (7.61%) 7th £84,000 (6.97%) 8th £80,000 (6.69%) 9th £77,000 (6.38%) 10th £73,000 (6.08%) 11th £67,000 (5.63%) 12th £67,000 (5.63%)
  8. The Decision Review System in cricket is well established now, combining various forms of technological assistance to off field umpires in order to review decisions. Initially when it was brought in, there continued to be controversies and you do still get the odd one, but they have become fewer and fewer over the years. What it has done is lead to an increased standard of umpiring, as particularly for LBW decisions, the feedback from DRS has enabled umpires to quickly learn from mistakes and improve their on field decision making. There are some elite umpires now whose accuracy (when compared to the DRS review) is very high. If that experience is anything to go by, I think we'll see improvements but it will take time. Oh and cricket umpires are professional - I think the semi-pro status of our referees will come even more into focus in the coming years, particularly where VAR highlights weaknesses that can only be addressed through the sort of training and professional development that can be achieved if they go full-time.
  9. Tav for me but special mention for Lundstram who was excellent too
  10. Agree that would be the danger, but in a member organisation, thems the breaks I would argue. I cancelled my legacy subscription and have scaled back my monthly subs to the £5 minimum. I wont revert until I see meaningful change, and sadly that looks way off. I don't want to end up cancelling altogether but I may be left with no choice.

    Next Season

David Edgar spoke to the club and apparently its just a reference to him returning to fitness soon.
  12. I would have thought, especially given the issues that led to the EGM at C1872, that they would have consulted members on this purchase. I've no doubt they have the authority for this within their constitution, but seems like a missed opportunity to engage the membership on what is a significant spend.
  13. A deflating performance. We’ve usually been better form-wise in Europe but we seemed to carry our domestic frailties into this game. A defensive lapse to go behind, and poor decision making in the final 3rd. We need to hope that a rocking Ibrox can spur this team on, on Thursday.
  14. Agree with all the comments. Felt just as churlish as their stance/attitude towards its use.
  15. The Bitci fan tokens sold out "within seconds", was the headline. 20m token @ €0.15 euros per token, raising €3m/£2.5m... (though no idea what the club's commission is on that). Today they are €0.04 per token, so 27% of their original value.
  16. Thought he had a positive impact on the team second half v Dundee - not least through his goal. Simple things like putting pressure on defenders/goalkeepers by varying the play, being more direct in terms of taking shots, stuff like that. If he can get another hour under his belt for Wales then he's sharpening up nicely for the beggars.
  17. I read that it was just a bit of cramp and that he is fine.
  18. Lundstram's form in Europe has been good, and he was on the bench at the weekend, which may point to him starting tonight.
  19. My team for tonight: McGregor Tav Goldson Balogun Bassey Jack Kamara Aribo Arfield Morelos Kent We'll need to be really good on the counter tonight - suspect they'll be really good in possession and try to press us into making mistakes.
  20. In my opinion, how we view Gio's success will be firstly be based on whether he retains the title. Interestingly, that will also be how we judge the departure of Gerrard. That said, he has only had one transfer window. It took Gerrard until his third season to mould the team the way he wanted it, and to extract the consistency of performance we all crave. If we don't retain the title, he should get the chance to re-shape the squad and go again. But as has been said by several other posters, there's a lot to play for. Sharkhead aside, Gio's european strategies have shown that he is good at delivering one-off games. I think this is going to come down to the two OF games - and thats where I think we will truly see whether Gio has the makings of a successul manager with us.
  21. It has been reported that the strip was in fact registered with the SPFL. Storm in a teacup in would seem
