Lets not forget that PLG has basically only been working with the squad for around 2 months - as said previously, Rome wasn't built in a day. We were always going to take a while to settle given all the changes to the playing and coaching staff. I feel it comes down to PLG learning the Scottish game - yes, he'll get us playing fast flowing attacking football but sometimes he'll have to adopt one of Big Eck's mantras and 'win ugly'. And the only way that can happen is by playing games. Lets wait until the first 9 games have been played until we properly assess the beginnings of PLG's reign.

I wouldnt read much into the result. Didn't see the game but it's basically a high profile pre-season friendly.

It's obvious that Mclaren is making a statement of intent and distancing himself from Sven's era. Dropping Beckham, the biggest underperformer in the team, shows that he's not overawed by big names. Seems to me he's putting the building blocks in place for the next Euro's and WC - exciting times for Colshy et al.

I'm with you there. Would be great to stick one over Hearts early in the season by getting one of their best players on the cheap... Oh, and he's a decent centre half too....

Agreed, 3 goals conceded in first 2 games is too many - There's plenty of noises from Le Guen and DM about getting more players in regardless of whether others are moved on first so I would reckon these are defenders + this winger from Man U

Your supporting your team by buying a ticket and going to the game - is that not enough? Yes wearing your teams top is an additional form of support but it's not the be all and end all.

Given the competition for places, the higher standard of fitness levels and discipline brought to Ibrox by PLG, I see no reason why we cant regain the league and compete to a decent standard in the UEFA cup. The SPL is the priority and I would use the CIS cup to give fringe players a couple of competitive games.

The best chants are the funny one's. I remember an e-mail of funny chants not too long ago e.g. sung to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank " Your just a fat Eddie Murphy! " quality.
