  1. He's a home boy apparently. He's knocked back big money moves to Torino (I think) in the past telling them they can stick they're billion lire (or words to that effect); also he is an Italian international. Furthermore he apparently wrote a book about Torino's efforts to get him
  2. It's mostly paper talk. I'll believe it when I see it.
  3. Another rumour I just heard on real radio is that Bardsley had a bust up with PLG because he was asked to train with the reserves and refused. Also that he's on his way back to Manure tonight
  4. Got a feeling that Celtic might be too strong for them. If Celtic get an early goal I think they might win 2-1 or 3-1. Having said that if Benfica keep it tight and hold onto the ball they'll get the crown on Timmy's back so it's pretty open for me.
  5. I'm not in favour of rushing him back into the team - remember when Eck brought him back for the Old Firm game last season!
  6. I thought that he's looked decent. Would like to see him get some accuracy on his cross balls and set pieces as we could do with another left sided midfielder who has a decent ping.
  7. Here here. Archie Campbell certainly has plenty of pace to burn and showed some good touches. Scot Durie (Jukebox's son) also had a decent game in defence.
  8. The biggest thing for me is that Le Guen hasn't necessarily played his strongest team in every game. Granted we've had key players injured at various times i.e Letizi, Ferguson, Clement & Burke which have not helped (you might not think Letizi is a key player but he's the managers number 1 so that makes him key IMO). Other times he's chopped and changed formations which hasn't allowed players to settle. Also, he's played key men such as Boyd and then taken him out of the team despite him scoring 5 league goals already (joint top scorer if I'm not mistaken); and taken other players out of the team such as Mcgregor when he's been playing well. Squad rotation will be key to any success we get this season due to the volume of games but until we gain some consistency we need a settled team in a settled formation. Back to basics! I still have faith in PLG. He may have underestimated the task ahead but I still think he'll get it right. I just hope it's not too late to salvage the league when he does.
  9. Greetings!
  10. As pete mentions, he was offside in phase one although not interfering with play so it's a no from me although I think it's a shocking rule.
  11. Apparently there were 7 Rangers players in the starting line up
  12. John Fleck has made it 2 nil about 10 mins later. Again blistering pace from Archie Campbell who squared the ball back to Fleck.
  13. Just switched over to watch Scotland Under 16s to see Archie Campbell of Rangers open the scoring. He latched onto a long ball over the top and gave his marker a 3 yard start before outpacing him over about 50 yards and slotted it past the goalie - superb stuff and judging by his pace, one to look out for...
  14. I'm in the dissapointed camp on this one. Form has to be a factor in the decision making but we'll probably never found out what has been said behind closed doors or if McGregor's comments in the press have been a factor although I suspect they have. A tough learning curve for McGregor and perhaps the end of his Ibrox career.
  15. Mcgregor's done nothing to merit being dropped so I would stick with him.
  16. Mark Venus will be in charge at the weekend - good chance he'll get the job if he doesn't follow Mowbray to WBA
  17. Not a fan then Beattie? He has hardly set the heather alight apart from a few fleeting glimpses mostly in his first couple of appearances. I read somewhere today that he was back at Old Trafford to seek specialist advice on his injury. Do you think they'll give us Ryan Giggs instead?
  18. Think I had the same video myself including Wilkins storming effert vs the manky tims,
  19. I'll go for Newcastle (another Battle of Britain) Anyone from Pot 3 Austria Vienna (so that Sebo, Sionko + Papac can stick it up them) Frankfurt (good sausages) There's a good chance we'll get an english team since there's 3 teams and 8 groups and the fact you can only have one team from a country in your group.
  20. Wonder if this will be the turnaround for our season a la Maritimo a couple of seasons ago. I see a lot of similarities in our situation at the minute and we didn't look back after that.
  21. He's the man in possession at the minute and hasn't put a foot wrong. I think it would be wrong to judge him on previous seasons since he's never had a chance with Klos & Wattereus ahead of him so going purely on his performances this season he's been excellent. He's got excellent reflexes and seems to be a v good shot stopper. He can kick well too and the big thing I like the most is how he starts play very quickly once he gets the ball to hand.
  22. One word - shite!
  23. I thought the pass was a bit heavy and your right - if he had challenged for it he could have been booked as he was not favourite to get there first.
  24. Spot on re Mcgregor - he's been immense. I'd be gutted if he gets dropped when Letizi regains fitness.

    CIS Cup

A home tie is always good. Cup competitions might be our best chance of silverware this season
