Just noticed this in a piece in the Sunday Liam... http://www.sundaymail.co.uk/sport/football/tm_headline=walter-plans-german-camp--%26method=full%26objectid=19053725%26siteid=64736-name_page.html

A good read. I doubt the tabloids will manage anything as well balanced...

Dont get me started on Scott Booth. Arrrrgggghhhhh.....:uzi: :uzi: :uzi: :uzi:

I was a little young at the time to fully understand the goings on but I would say it was a combination of the Souness effect and also the English european ban
-
Cant stand bad losers. Lennon and Boruc have to be the worlds worst but at least they didn't go over the top. Well done to the Rangers fans at the game for not going Tonto about it - exactly the way to show the little c***s up!

Ehiogu looked good because Celtic played long ball football up to Jan Vinegar for the first half. He copes well with the physical battle but it's when the ball is played to feet with players running in the channels that I have concerns about him. Saying all that he played and made his experience count. Cant argue much with any of the ratings - all in all a good performance made to look better because Celtic didn't turn up.

They're saying it's 15 days after the last league game
-
Fraser Wishart on Radio Snyde said that he got the ban because of FIFA's interpretation of when the loophole could be used. You have 15 days from the last game of the season in order to invoke this ruling. Webster did so 15 days after the Scottish Cup Final however this was 19 days after their last league game. Very petty indeed to see him banned but it sets a precedent for further instances of this. I wonder who may try this at the end of this season? He also mentioned that the 'breach of contract without due cause' is only legal rhetoric and does not mean that Webster was not able to take advantage of this loophole.

To be fair, he has a good reputation, even if we did buy a couple of injured players in the 9IAR era you can hardly blame that on the scouting if they get crocked in training or in games. Plus, it's an another area we seemed to be lagging behind our east end rivals so if Walter knows and trusts him then this is a good appointment, right?
-
He's no Linford Christie but I dont think he's a slouch either.
-
I would keep Papac as well. I think he's shown enough in the latter part of the season for him to be worthwhile keeping. Sionko's been missing but is he fit? If he's fit and isn't even getting a place on the bench then its obvious Wattie doesn't fancy him.

Aye it was a nice finish. Hibs' second was a cracker but what about Hibs keepers and Charlie Adam free kicks?

To answer my own question. I read a thread on FF that after we equalised to make it 1-1, a fan took out and started waving a Union Jack. This is what prompted the Police to wade in and that if it wasn't for his fellow bears who stood firm, he would have been arrested. The thread mentioned that there was nothing written on the flag and also that a police sergeant apologies afterwards. This kind of thing is really getting out of control.

That would be typical of Rod Petrie, i.e stupid! If I were a Hibs fan I would be more concerned with getting the best price I could rather than feeling bitter about the Riordon deal. At the end of the day, Hibs got decent money for a player who was, give or take a couple of months, out of contract. What more does he want in today's transfer market? IMO it would be irresponsible of the Hibs chairman not to get the most money and if it's offered by Celtic then he should take it.

Ordinarily I would agre about run of the mill SPL players but disagree about Rangers having any similar players to him. He's an old fashioned target man who's good in the air. Who from the current Rangers squad fits that bill? Juffery mentioned Emile Heskey to me today. Whilst I wouldn't be keen on him per se, the qualities he has (at least in the past) are that he's tall, physical, strong in the air and generally a good target man. Thats why I feel Killen would be a decent shout as he would be within our budget (i.e. free), his wages wont cost the earth; and he would add a bit of variety to our attack.

It's funny how so many people have been turned off by the Gretna fairytale in recent months. I think it's great for Scottish football and it keeps things fresh when new teams come up into the SPL and hoepfully they can have as good an impact as ICT.
-
That was my first thought. I heard something out personal reasons that would remain private and that it was the 'right time to go'. Apparently theres a press conference tomorrow so no doubt more will come out then...
-
Shocking behaviour. I hope the RST takes this up with the relevant people. I heard on the radio that the police were going into the Rangers end during the game? Can anyone shed any light as to why?
-
Blames Hibs for not offering him a 2 or 3 year deal as the reason he is leaving. I say snap him up. I know not everyone is happy with us signing SPL players but I think he could do a job for us. Whats everyone's thoughts?
-
£1m seems like the going rate for a player of his standing given that he's still contracted. He's had a couple of good seasons and is a good prospect. I think we can all see his potential so I would be all in favour of us signing him. As for the debate surrounding the club's ambition - this summer will reveal a lot. WS needs funds to rebuild the squad and if he doesn't get it then I guess we will get our answer. Lets just be realistic about things as well. It's not always about how much a player costs but also his wages.

Jon's Aunty, eh? I'm sure some of your relatives would be delighted to see some of the filth you've posted on here in your time?!

Welcome aboard kaz!

Wow. He's still only 19 if I recall correctly. Stunning stuff.
