    We Are

Been on the shandy again Gribz?
  2. Was thinking about this. Is it perhaps someting to do with the length of their existing contracts? If Henry only has 1 year left then £16m is a good deal for Arsenal since he could leave for nowt next season. Still, £16m for Bentyboy is laughable regardless of how long his contract has left to go at Charlton.
  3. Lets not get our knickers in a twist here lads. No football teams want to sign up big-money players at the start of the window because if your paying £25k a week and you sign them in may, you've already paid them the best part of £300k by the time the next season starts. Money talks!
  4. Will believe it when I see it!

    Guilly

Totally agree. Can hardly even read the back pages at the moment due to the distinct smell of shite that eminates from them!
  6. Hope not. He's been pretty solid when called upon without ever standing out. A good player to have since he can cover a number of positions.
  7. Anyone else getting incredibly bored with the same re-hashed nothing-new-to-say tabloid journo hack transfer exclusives?
  8. Agreed, Bain out and someone with experience and a tracker record in!
  9. Just because these men were great players for us, it doesn't mean they will automatically be great scouts, negotiators, fixers - or whatever role is being suggested. I dont like Bain any more than the next man but I would rather put someone in place with experience and a track record.
  10. I think it's a great move. It gives junior/ senior clubs the chance for a crack at the big boys which is no bad thing. For me, it's a stepping stone to having a pyramid structure which is what the game has been crying out for. Hopefully Gordon Smith will push for it.
  11. Yawn, what a boring story. Somebody wake me up if/when he signs.
  12. Totally agree. We need some substance to back this up. Somehow I doubt we'll get it.
  13. It's early days but the noises from Coisty and the brief evidence on those vids is that Gow could be one of our better signings!
  14. Sorry Buba, I dont want to hear about pipedreams until i've seen this moonbeam of success SDM keeps talking about.
  15. If Gordon goes on to fulfil his undoubted potential then I reckon £8m would look like a steal.
  16. I think it's the age old 'takes time to settle in' stuff. Add to that the physical nature of our game which makes it harder to settle as these guys come in from the continent and get no time on the ball. Bottom line though, I reckon they just dont fancy putting in the required effort, unlike Hemdani. Maybe the weather is a factor too. Not many of them will have had to cope with freezing cold driving rain coming in off the North Sea on a chilly November night in Inverness.
  17. It was more a prediction than a conclusion but I take your point. It's early days yet, so those who are throwing away their season books etc are jumping the gun a little.
  18. Agreed, I said in another thread that I reckon there will not be much between next seasons first pick XI's when both fit. It'll be the strength of squad that might be the telling factor over the whole season and in that area Celtic may be ahead of us.
  19. Excellent news IMO. Too many players have arrived at Ibrox in the past 2/3 seasons and not fancied it. They've then quickly realised that if they dont put the effort in and generally look disinterested, then Martin Bain will come along with his big cheque book and give them a big pay off. The other side of the coin is that players know that when they sign that the management will back them and not just give up when the going gets tough.
  20. It's a big summer for our club and will be interesting to see how Celtic's Bertie Big Baws posturing will pan out in terms of their team next season. If they buy big, as it seems they meet, yet their team is not streets ahead of the competition then you would have to ask, is it all worth it? My initial thoughts though, are that Celtic have a higher level of squad player to back up their first picks. This might become apparent towards the end of next season once injuries and suspensions kick in. I dont really see Celtic being that much better than us if we both have our first XI fit.
  21. Would agree with that. Corner's should be a weapon when you have someone with his ability at dead balls. How many times have we scored from corners this season? Not enough for my liking. Set pieces should be bread and butter and we should expect a goal every 4/5 games.
  22. Certainly puts a few things in perspective. SDM - pull the finger out!
  23. This one's no bad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yKIvkqnvNg
  24. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DH6_tDFUE-E Dont know if this has been mentioned yet but I'm hearing we may be looking at a part exchange with Sionko as the makeweight in a possible deal for this guy deal. Doesn't look too bad but am loathe to judge on a couple of clips. After all, even Sebo didn't look too bad on the wee video I saw of him prior to signing.
  25. I'm annoyed when I miss him any time he's on the radion. Is there any chance of getting a heads up on when he will be doing any radio/tv interviews? (I guess the RST would probably be a good starting point)
