  1. That rings a bell now that you mention it Craig.
  2. Good question. Cant think of many Scots in CL winning teams (assuming they've gone on to win the World Club Champs) apart from Paul Lambert?
  3. Said to Juffery tonight as I went over to his to watch the game, "Get your money on Killie to win tonight as Gretna will really struggle with losing their top scorer and Killie got a decent result on Sunday" Cue much hilarity as goals 1, 2, 3 & 4 rolled in for Gretna. Added to that, Davie Crockett, or whatever his name is (the Setanta commentator), says "I wouldn't want to be Mrs Jeffries tonight". Dont know about you guys but I wouldn't want to be Mrs Jeffries any night of the week. That is all.
  4. It's a toss of the coin between Davis and Ferguson for me.
  5. Word is she's Belgian but decided to play for Holland because her 4th Cousin twice removed once visited Amsterdam and quite liked it.
  6. Why not give it a go for a trial period. What harm can it do? You just make sure that everyone is aware that there will be zero tolerance on those who overdo things and that significant bad behaviour will result in the ban being put back in place. It's the same with this whole thing about not having an Old Firm game as a potential title decider. What harm would there be in potentially allowing one? If it doesn't work then fair enough but the SPL could do with having a grandstand finish now again.
  7. The assumptions made in this article are, sadly, probably not too far from the truth. I just wonder what Sir Minty Moonbeams has up his sleeve that Jim Traynor claims he is privy to.
  8. Rangers, Killie & Hibs all away wins - might be worth a couple of quid. What odds can I get on that Beattie?
  9. Jesus, that's sickening. Poor guy,
  10. The Jungle Jims will use their Suville Calculators to work it out differently. TGIFTW - my a***!
  11. We should still have enough in our locker to get the result. For away games such as this, Walter's 4-5-1 actually makes sense as we can hit them on the break. If they want to play some more attacking players then thats fine by me.
  12. Thats what Ossie Ardilles used to call them!
  13. IIRC, the rule is that you cant play for more than two clubs in any given season so there would be nothing to stop him moving again next season if he wanted.
  14. He's got a long term injury so expect to see him at Murray Park in July signing a 20 year, £5m a year deal.
  15. I can see the logic in playing him but the risk of him getting injured is high so it's a fine line to get it right. Agree 100% with your 2nd point.
  16. Have you been over indulging in the herbal remedies again Gribzy? George Graham of boring boring Aresnal fame? No thanks. As for El Tel, wtf has he done in the last 15 years?
  17. Cheers. Coisty was on being interviewed by Chick Dung on Radio Scotland before last nights match and was defending the selection of McCulloch in the lone strikers role by saying that he played the role excellently well (or words to that effect) in the Scottish Cup tie against Hibs. Now, I wasn't at the game but I watched it on TV and it safely goes down as one of the most turgid peformances of the season in my book. Far too defensive against a team struggling in the SPL and a team to whom we should never ever play with one up front unless we have the biggest injury and suspension crisis in the history of football.
  18. Agreed. I crapped myself at Hampden when he went down versus Hearts in the CIS semi final.
  19. Scotland's choice of manager will be mainly down to budget. I'm sure I heard somewhere that we pay our managers the least out of all the home nations. Obviously the £6m England are paying Capello is unrealistic for us but you would think we could compete with Wales, N Ireland and Ireland (if you count them as a home nation).
  20. Too defensive in games against average European opposition like Panathinaikos and occasionally versus the likes of Hibs and the Celtc.
  21. My view is that if you forked out £27 to travel to Ibrox on a freezing cold winters night and you were served up such abject negative defensive drivel then you would have every right to boo someone like Cousin getting an appearance as a sub when he patently wants to be elsewhere.
  22. I think Boyd's attitude goes a long way to deciding his fate. He's going a bit Marco Negri with his sullen sulky & routine. I havent heard any reports in the papers about any positive things he's doing to force his way back in to the team like asking for extra striker sessions with McCoist, extra gym sessions, shooting practice and generally doing a helluva lot more in training to say "Gaffer, I know you're not playing me but look, I'm putting in the effort and I'm trying to improve my game so give me a chance" That way, if Smith is unsure what team to pick or what sub to make, he's going to think that Boydy has been putting in the effort and deserves the chance to show what he can do.
  23. Think you make an excellent point there. On a number of occasions Ferguson did really well to take the ball in tight positions and spread the play nicely but your then playing the ball into either a centre half as a makeshift full back or someone like Charlie Adam who patently does not have the pace to play wide. They are then trying to play the ball in to a lone striker who is heavily marked and your then looking for scraps. It's just not the type of tactics that suit Fergie's game.
  24. Even Trappatoni cant turn Lee Carsley in to a world class player!!!
