Fred the Shred was the boss of RBS, not HBOS.

Its a result of the pressure Mowbray is under. The current team are lagging behind despite investment during the summer and the fans and some sections of the media are going after Mowbray pretty regularly now. Some of the most laughable criticisms is that Mowbray and his backroom team are not animated enough! Its times like this when you know the MOPES are getting REALLY worried! By shipping out Strapon's players and bringing in his own, at least Mowbray can show that he is doing something... One word of caution though.... Mowbray has been known to pick a player of two from obscurity both in his time at Hibs and West Brom so lets not get too carried away...

Ian, did you not mean $15m? Zimbabwe dollars that is!!!

Can't believe we actually paid that imposter a salary! As for the protests, I can't see it making any real difference (what has?), but at least it lets the powers that be know there are dissenting voices that wont go away.

Yeah, but if they showed a big team playing away, they'll be guaranteed to get a wee run of extra subscribers who'll want to see the game. So, from their point of view, it would seem quite sensible.
-
At their age, providing they are getting regular game time, why would they want to leave? Its just negotiating tactics from their respective agents trying to get the best deal they can.

I am far from an expert but are there not stockmarket protocols that would need to be followed before any offers or asking prices could be disclosed? If so, Edgar's pleas would appear pointless. If not then I agree with the underlying sentiment, I.e. We, the fans, are in the dark and want to know what's happening!

Hamilton 3 - 3 Rangers: Player Ratings and MoM Poll
stewarty replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Agreed. Is his preferred position not up front? I would have played him there when Boyd went off. -
I remain sceptical about any developments until something is signed and formally announced...

Gersnet totally unusable with snow animation
stewarty replied to gisabeer's topic in Forum Support and Feedback
Agreed. Although I use Firefox which has been playing up a bit recently. No idea if it is any way linked to the Gersnet snow! -
This wont go away till the end of January or until he signs a new contract. Even then, if his form of recent weeks continues, he will always attract attention.

I agree with the point that he is not and performing currently and that we cant afford passengers. I also agree that its unfair to criticise too heavily given that he hasn't been given an extended run in his best position i.e. as striker. IIRC correctly, he had a spell as striker last season where he was keeping Boyd out the team and was playing pretty well, including vs Celtic. I think the guy has talent and will come good eventually. Although with Boyd's form, he might not get the chance at Ibrox. On balance, if we got offered a fee that recouped a decent chunk of what we paid, I'd let him go. Get another striker that could play with Boyd and offer more striking options to suit who we are playing.

It's the way of the modern football supporter. Just wait till our winning run comes to end (fingers crossed it won't be for quite some time) and you'll see lots of abuse aimedat players who've been playing well. How many fans wouldn't have batted an eyelid if Beasley had never played for us again and moved this transfer window are now waxing lyrical about the wee man's ability?
-
I think you are right. No idea what happened to him though

You ripped Rangers fans off. You stick the boot in with your rent-a-quote comments. You lie. Your team are dirty no-mark cheats. You've just lost your best manager since Jim McLean. There isn't a more deserving Chairman in football! :box::box: That's why we are champions!!!!! :giruy:

Oh, and goal difference is as follows: Rangers + 34 Mhanks + 18 That's why we are champions!!!

Sensational stuff. I now wonder if we can keep hold of him in January. Way to put yourself in the shop window!

What's the difference between Kris Boyd and Davie Weir? Weir quit because of Vogts and came back but he didn't get anything like the treatment dished out to Boyd.
-
Nope. Quite obvious really. An age-old case of those that have, and those that haven't.
-
Confidence is a great thing. A wee spell out of the limelight will hopefully do him a wonder of good and he'll come back to prove some of his critics (me being one of them) wrong.

Craig Brown believes there should be no way back for Kris Boyd
stewarty replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
For Boyd it was his pride rather than his commitment. He had been the top goal scorer in Scotland for a couple of seasons and had a strike rate of 1 in 2 (approx) in his appearances for Scotland. Then, when Burley looked to the bench for a goal he overlooks him for two uncapped players. I think most professionals would be miffed about that given he circumstances. I would argue that Boyd did spit the dummy out and perhaps should have just got his head down to try and prove Burley wrong but I don't see how one mistake should be held against him forever. Yet again, us football fans get sucked into this tabloid reactionist mentality that bears no relation to the real lives of those who pay their hard earned to go watch the game.
