Ah, just re-read that and its still the same as the October statement. Cancel my previous post, nothing has changed! -
Tony Mowbray says Lafferty reaction was to blame for red card
stewarty replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
Just deflecting from the reality and pandering to the paranoid element of the Sellik support. And on the evidence of this week, that would appear to be the majority. -
London Based Property Developers and Rangers

Just speculation until we see something concrete. I guess the official statement saying that the Board will keep the fans informed as and when there are developments does suggest that something is in the offing. Not counting any chooks though. -
Scotland v Czech Republic Match Thread

Good platform to build on for levein. Some encouraging performances including boydy up front on his own -
Cant see Wilkins combining his role at Chelsea with being a scout for us....

Funny how there's been a whole load of these things happen in recent weeks. No surprise to me really given how far we are in front.
-
I'm sure Dougie McDonald believes that he will not be affected by all this and that'll do for me. I just hope that no-one from Rangers makes any statement on the matter other than to say something along the lines of... "that's a matter for Celtic and the SFA". That way, when we hammer them out of sight on Sunday, Walter can get tore into them after the game.

Welcome chaps

Your not a Lafferty fan, fair enough. But just because your older than most on here, doesn't somehow mean your opinion holds more weight. If you made your point and responded to debate without the confrontation, folks wouldn't get on your back so much.
-
True but Wilson is a capable deputy and you would still have Davie Weir marshalling the troops so I think we could cope. As I said, it would be something unexpected which might catch them off guard. They're going into the game with two inexperienced centre halfs and a defence who have played no more than a couple of games together. Having someone like Boogie tearing towards you would be pretty daunting.
-
I'm sure if he did decide to return and was appropriately contrite and apologetic about it, the TA would soon get over it.

I'd like Walter to throw a bit of a curve ball in this one. I'd like to see Bougherra at right back with a bit of license to push forward and put their defence under pressure. We can always put Whittaker at RM with the remit of covering Bougherra's nomadic runs and providing support where appropriate. I see this doing a few things: 1) It would give us a bit of width - something which has been lacking recently. 2) It would allow Davis to play CM where he is more effective. 3) It would force their wide players to play more defensively, thus blunting the threat posed by their playing 4-2-4 4) If their wide players DON'T track back, this will drag their central defenders and central midfielders out wide which will create more space for Boydy and Miller to exploit.

it seems like you either don't understand my point or are deliberately ignoring it.

I've not read what's on RM but why bring it up here? If the particular post on RM had genuine cross-board interest then fair enough but inappropriate posts on another forum are their responsibility and irrelevant to the discussion here.

Calm yer shams wabash. If you have a problem with something on RM, take it up with them.
-
Why don't you comment on RM then?

Ever the optimist, eh! The point being that if we are to stand any chance of qualification we need to get off to a good start. That means winning our first two fixtures. Assuming Spain run away with it, it appears we are competing with Czech to get the play-off spot. Therefore, the Czech away fixture is massive and any points we get there are likely to be crucial. And I don't think its that implausible - if Levein gets us going from the off, we can carry a bit of momentum into the game and who knows? As for Spain, we could easily do to them as we did to France so for me, with my super-optimistic hat and tartan army tinted specs on, I think its doable! :spl:
-
That was my reaction too. Minimum 7 points required from the Lithuania, Liechtenstein and Czech games with the Spain game being Brucie's Bonus time if we are extremely lucky.

Only one side of the story so I would be careful about making your mind up so quickly. Especially from the NOTW who's conduct, as others have said, is pretty shameful. ** Edit - I feel dirty now having clicked the link to that rag...

Crisis? What crisis?

Not clicked the link but if its what I think it is, the jambos tell them to jog on.... Mwahahah -
I stand corrected then. McCann talking about the same thing as we speak!

That doesn't make sense. If he was booked and has crossed the threshold, he misses the game. Unless the number of points each booking attacts depends on the offence but I haven't heard anything like that before, for bookings at least.
