To move from the current model to full fan ownership is too big a jump for me. Any fan ownership model would need to include all supporters groups with open transparent governance structure which doesn't appear to be there at the moment. Added to that, as Totti el al have said, what relevant experience do they have? I can't help but feel the RST is getting a bit carried away with itself. They should have simple achievable goals within a long-term strategy. For me, their first goal should be to regain the club's trust, then seek to unite the support. At this point, fan representation on the Board might be achievable and palatable to the then owners.

Funny how these hacks now feel able to get stuck in now that Mowbray has gone. Too scared to before that? -
Agreed. Future Rangers captain! (If that's not premature?)

Welcome Bandit. Is Smokey joining you?:spl:

Agreed. He's been pretty consistent in a Rangers shirt despite his 'limited ability'.

I would be for it too. But as Walter and Ally have been saying in reaction to Mowbray's demise, football is a results business. And if 4-5-1 doesn't deliver reasonable results, he will get criticised. IIRC, we spent most of our 6 CL games this season playing that same system.
-
I alluded to the same earlier in the thread. Clubs from the major nations will not let their stranglehold of the finances go without a fight. If Platini is serious,, I could see talk of breakaway leagues, refusal to play in UEFA competitions and much more.

Its an interesting idea but it seems pretty flawed from the limited information the article offers. If you try to put limitations on how much somebody wants to invest in a football team, they will find ways of legitimately working around it. It would be like tax avoidance. No matter how much companies and individuals are taxed, those who want to, will find ways of legitimately avoiding it. What would stop the owner of a club also becoming its main sponsor and giving the club a bumper flexible deal each season to add to the money that is invested? Perhaps the way to address this in part would be to introduce solvency rules, similar to those imposed on banks. E.g. clubs must have a certain percentage of reserves to cover their liabilities.

We've mostly bounced back from poor performances this season so I reckon we might win by a couple. Think it will be tight though as I can forsee some tired legs near the end.

For a new manager, this must be the ideal time for them to come in. They can hardly do much worse than Mowbray so someone like Lambert must surely fancy himself.
-
Firstly, I would hardley say I'm getting upset, but rather agreeing with much of Calscot's post and disappointed Wabash has not responded to any of it. That is his prerogative, but its also mine to think it is baffling. Secondly, I can see why the post can be viewed as a personal attack and for that I apologise. In relation to your challenge of me, and to paraphrase your own words... this is a place where people are free to post their opinions, in words of their choice.

Ha ha, indeed. Although yes, I would agree that he would be an outsider, you never quite know with these old stagers. Sometimes fancy one last crack at the big time, just to show the young whipper-snappers they can still cut it if they want to.
-
Agreed. You have to wonder about his future career prospects. What club is going to take a chance on a guy who has failed so miserably at Celtic, and who hardly won rave reviews for his time at West Brom? I can see him taking a job in relative obscurity (League 1/ League 2 or similar) and it may take some time for him to build back up a level where he would be considered for a job at a good-sized club, if at all.
-
Trappatoni might not be too pie in the sky but it would likely take a lot of money to get him. And having spunked so much on hiring and firing Mowbray (and his (mis)management team) and funding his scattergun transfer policy, how much can they really afford to pay?
-
Unbelievable! A manager who has managed in the EPL for a number of years as well as the Welsh team isn't experienced enough? I get the impression Timmy will not be satisfied until Jock Stein is resurrected from his grave and installed as manager.

That sums in up for me. :spl:

Now now lads, we wouldn't want to be revelling in their pain now would we? :fish: -
Am I Herring right? Nemo Lennon, the uber Clown Fish has taken over? Surely there's salmon wrong there? He's an arSole of the highest order but has the Perchecution complex needed for the job. I can't work out whether this is Brill or a load of Pollocks!

He's also not long signed a long-term contract for megabucks and would therefore not be cheap.

Is getting one over your biggest rivals and having a bit of banter not one of the joys of the game? I don't disagree with the premise of what your are saying but some Rangers fans on a message board revelling in Celtic's downfall is hardly evidence to suggest that I or others value that more than our own success. But, I'll focus on what positives I can draw, and for me, we are one step closer to the title and securing £10-£15m in Champions League income which helps address our debt and therefore long-term future; and could well determine whether we have any money to spend in the summer in strengthening the squad - something last night's result showed us is needed if we want to kick on from here.

Ha ha ha ha. Realistic my arse. The only one of those who might take is Grant, but would an Israeli really be accepted what with their support's pro Palestine tendencies?

That isn't what I said at all. I said the Tim's result was more important in terms of helping us to secure the title and the financial benefits that brings. That doesn't mean that a defeat in the QF of the SC doesn't matter.
