  1. There were a few culprits. Can we put it down to the players needing a rest? You can only ask players to play 2 games per week for so long before performance levels, sharpness and concentration start to dip.
  2. Anyone else suspect his performance level may have picked up now that another team are showing an interest? Think its called the Lovenkrands Effect...
  3. We can only speculate on that point until such time as we hear something official
  4. It was his work-rate that impressed me most. He defends from the front and his a team player. Truly phenomenal
  5. Its all fuel for Walter's team talk tonight.... Look at how they twist our words...Its us v them.... Get stuck intae they sheep c***s!
  6. I'm not sure it is such a change as suggested. Sure we are working to a business plan imposed by the bank, but we knew that already. Sure we are able to manage our debt levels as we are only repaying £1m per year for the forseeable future (but hopefully this year's profits might take a chunk out of it). Its not pretty and its having a detrimental effect on the size and quality of the playing staff, but we knew that already. Sure we know Walter doesn't like the bank's business plan, but we knew that already. Sure he is working without a contract, and that may well continue, but we knew that already. Seems to me that we are reading too much into this.
  7. Kinda agree that clearly a twist or spin has been put to Edu's words. Interestingly, although it was widely reported about the player going for a trial at Wigan, Hamilton's chairman was in the radio on Sunday saying there was no way it was going to happen. Strange things going on there and Willie Mckay is the boy's agent... I think we can draw our own conclusions about this story I.e it's designed to flush out rangers interest in the player come the transfer window.
  8. Players would only sign short term deals if clubs insisted on such clauses.
  9. he's certainly got something about him so for me it would depend on the price.
  10. Dammit. I knew I should have used a more ironic smiley.
  11. Always like hansen. Insightful analysis, witty banter and all round good egg.
  12. Yet more garbled logic from Gordon Smith and the SFA. He is quoted as saying the current system isn't perfect but a change would contravene FIFA rules. Also, he says the current system "... was implemented after discussions with the wider Scottish football constituency through the Disciplinary Committee's Working Party, which consists of representatives of the Scottish Premier League, Scottish Football League, Managers' and Coaches' Association, PFA Scotland and the Referees' Union. So the current system was not dictated by FIFA, but rather the interpretation of those with a vested interest. He just said on Radio Scotland that it was more or less the opinion of the refereeing community, including their union, that was the key driver. He is then quoted in the article as saying "We are mindful of the growing public debate to streamline and harmonise the current procedures and I can confirm that discussions have already taken place to expedite certain aspects of the process." But if it is FIFA rules, surely there is nothing to expedite? And what exactly does that mean anyway (in this instance)?
  13. Indeed. No doubt he'll get move into a coaching role somewhere.
  14. Ha ha ha ha ha Post up the reply if you get one...
  15. The 'I'm just focused on the big games coming up' will only satisfy me to a degree. Fair enough he doesn't want to worry about it but if he is genuine about staying, you would have thought he would instruct his agent to go an do the deal so that he can then announce that he's staying for another 3 years (or whatever). I think that would settle things in his mind, for that is what I perceive to be his biggest weakness.
  16. Oofft. Aint that the truth!
  17. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Got me anyways. The missus got me a cracker this morning. She posted on twitter "number 4 due in September. We must be mad". I feckin shat myself when I read that.
  18. Tremendous work Frankie! A few possible questions: Q. Who is your favourite Rangers player from your tenure? Q. Are Rangers and Celtic ever likely to leave Scottish football? Q. In hindsight, was sanctioning Barry Ferguson's return worthwhile? Q. Could you have done more to respond to the mis-information, bias, and, occasionaly, outright lies spread by certain quarters of the media during your time?
  19. As a lapsed RST member, I have to agree with this. As much as I may want both fan ownership and the RST to work, I think they are both flawed. I, for one, would love to get involved in a fan ownership scheme but know that I just don't have the funds to spare at the moment and so would be one of the excluded suggested by MF. As much as there are some who can and will afford it, there will be many more who might struggle to justify renewing their season ticket, never mind finding additional membership fees which amount to more than what they are already paying just to go to the games.
  20. Yeah I'm getting the feeling he might be for the off. I also suspect it might be of his own volition.
  21. I'll take the United game. Fingers cross it'll be the championship clinching game! :spl:
  22. 2-0 to the Champions. Boyd to get 2 Is the game on the telly?
  23. Robbie Keane is an irrelevance. A populist signing to attempt to placate the throng of dissent and to get punters coming back to the San Giro. It failed. Get over it. Mmmm, the Scottish Football Writers' Association's player of the year. I repeat, the year! Not 11 games, the full season. It should reflect which player you think has had the biggest influence over the entire season and its outcome. Over Keane's 11 game spell so far, Celtic have dropped even further behind Rangers and disgraced themselves with a woeful results against Kilmarnock and St Mirren. Some influence that boy has, eh Ronnie? And for good reaon Ronaldo, his signing has made not one jot of difference to the outcome of the league. He's scored 11 goals, but not when they counted. They didn't get him a goal in the Old Firm derby, nor the Killie or St Midden defeats. I make that 9 points his lack of goal scoring prowess has cost you. Y'know, when the chips are down and you need someone to drag the team out fighting - HE WAS POSTED MISSING! Indeed. You should listen to your colleagues. They have other flaws, but listening to your pish doesn't seem to be one of them. Streets ahead of whom exactly? The way its going, you'll be behind Dundee United by the end of the season. Really all your saying is that, by his supposedly masterful standards, he is underperforming....Whaddaya think of them apples Ronster? Right, so he wasn't good enough to score? Are you sensing a pattern here, Ron? So now you want the player of the year to be decided based on games which occur after its been pretty much decided? Your argument becomes more and more bizarre the further I read it. . There was me thinking that Celtic had a sparkling post-xmas run in Europe there, inspired by Robbie Keane.... No, wait.... my head hurts.... . He got no service in what is probably Celtic's most crucial fixture of the season and he isn't Diego Maradona...... Dear oh dear. Was the lack of service he saw due to a particularly effective and defensive and midfield performance by some Rangers POTY candidates? Were you on the sauce writing this stuff? . So Jobbie Keane got Mowbray the sack. How does that make him a POTY candidate? So his only positive is that he helped prevent Celtic from being over 20 points behind at this stage of the season? :shakeshead: You betcha Ronnie - they'll be cacking it when the mighty County come to town! . So there are plenty of worthy candidates, yet you can't bring yourself to consider them because they're all Rangers players? I can sense the bitterness eminating from your words... . Finally, some realism. . Pish. He is not a better goalkeeper than Allan McGregor. He is not a better defender than Boughie or Weir, nor a better midfielder than Davis. Are you attempting to mask the Celtic team's inadequacy by overstating Keane's individual contribution? IT MADE NO DIFFERENCE. No, because he made a decisive contribution to the outcome of the match. Keano has not had that influence over Celtic's season. So what exactly are you saying? That you agree your whole article is pish? I'm surprised your editor lets you do anything other than make tea. :box:
  24. From BBC News:
  25. What a load of pyscophantic narrow minded drivel.
