  1. And based on his latest statement its clear the man is a slow learner!
  2. I think the SFA and Regan have been too quick to rush out with a counter statement and I wouldnt be surprised to see more statements today going on past performance. If there is a case for defamation then get a bloomin lawyer and stop all this posturing - its clear that McBride has plenty of friends to give him the platform he needs so why get drawn into a war of words that could backfire?
  3. I dont disagree but is this not part of the problem? i.e. the Board has only engaged with the process relatively late in the game - possibly only in a formal capacity since Murray (allegedly) agreed to sell his shares to Whyte?
  4. Could this be a sign that Whyte is already planning his exit strategy? I guess it is common sense to plan ahead but you could read things in different ways. For example, Whyte could be looking to bring along other investors to spread the risk. He could also be playing various people to get the best deal possible. However, it could also mean that he is looking at this as a short term investment, possibly linked to a property deal of some description (hence Mr Ellis' involvement). More questions with so few answers.
  5. I think we should leave the gay badinage to others, eh darling?
  6. Now you are playing hard to get..... :fish:
  7. Frankie - your such a tease!
  8. Normally the news of another interested party would be welcome. But at this stage - unless it far outweighs that of Craig Whyte, I see it as more of a hindrance than anything else. I just want this saga to be concluded

One of the articles on AJ over the weekend had direct quotes that Whyte admitted to knowing nothing of running a football club and suggested that he could do with AJ's help. It seems, as you say, that AJ has decided he wont continue under the new regime and this explains why he his being more candid with his quotes.
  10. I find it quite amusing that none of our "informed" journalists had any wind of these provisions.
  11. As with most articles on the situation - a lot about not a lot. I suspect that Traynor is one of the few hacks who are being used by bringing leaks and exclusives to exaggerate one or both positions as negotiators seek to gain some advantage. Ergo, treat this whole thing with a pinch of salt until Minty's shares are officially traded on the PLUS market.
  12. Funnily enough, lennon played it down on twitter saying the ref was "over fussy".
  13. Stuff the license trade. No surprise that they want to boost takings on Monday nights but what about the supporters who'll have to take holidays from work and all sorts to go see their team? The self-serving tail wagging the dog. Again.
  14. Indeed. Has the share price not increased significantly in the last few days?
  15. Does this not break stock market rules in some way? My understanding is that these rules are very strict and surely there cannot be open reporting of discussions Whyte has held with club officials until any such takeover talks are concluded?
  16. There is no doubt that successive governments in Scotland have failed to tackle sectarianism equitably. Pouring money into organisations such as Nil By Mouth gets them sound good soundbites but doesn't address some of the more substantive issues. Ask anyone who has ever written a policy statement before and the first step is usually to define the area concerned. For any government to do enshrine such policy definitions in law (i.e. what is sectarianism, what songs are deemed offensive, etc) would be extremely difficult given the grey areas outlined by Frankie's post. Therefore, is it any wonder politicians are less than forthcoming on this? To come down on either side would win/lose votes on both sides - and very few politicians enjoy making decisions which lose them votes. Saying that, why would there need to be such definitions? Surely there are sufficient laws in this country which can be enforced which should be able to tackle any unsavoury aspect of the debate? Regardless, if there was such an inherant problem that is as widespread as some would have you believe, politicians would have no choice but to take tougher action. The reality however is somewhat different and the behaviour and treatment of discriminatory behavious by fans of any colour is far from equitable.
  17. A fine riposte to the ongoing ridiculous and hyperbolic sectarian debate. I had the misfortune of tuning into Radio Clyde last night to hear 'Sean' describe how disgusted he was at 21,000 Rangers fans singing "vile" and "disgusting" songs - and that the poor Celtic fans were saintly in comparison. Irony and perspective are not their friends.
  18. I see Weir as a symbol of Walter's second reign. And a such Ally must surely replace him to provide his own stamp on the team. I have every confidence he will.
  19. Yeah, I, um saw that...
  20. Is it not Bomber who first spotted Cuellar's potential?
  21. Agreed. Or, Walter/Bain has decreed that they will keep a lid on things for the time being to see what comes of the SFA/ Police enquiries. Not a lot, I suspect.
  22. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/celtic/2011/03/07/rangers-star-el-hadji-diouf-celtic-boss-neil-lennon-is-no-racist-86908-22971914/
  23. I'm sure the Daily Rhebel article contains an "alleged" quote from Diouf.
  24. Another clear indication that Regan is not fit for the office of Chief Executive. On the one hand he has announced they are carrying out a full investigation into all incidents from last night's game, yet on the other hand has dished out his own withering judgement. We must assume therefore, that the outcome of the investigation will be changed/adjusted/moulded to suit the views of Regan. What a shambles.
