  1. I daren't get close enough to notice. No idea what sets you off
  2. What, like this? You'll go blind.
  3. Its like that is it?
  4. Went for Thanks/Groans. Was quite happy with the old system, if it ain't broke, etc etc
  5. That should just go into the annual awards instead
  6. There isn't actually a war of words though, is there? You have Coisty going off on one, and Lennon being asked to comment on it by the media.
  7. Great wee story 54AC. Admin/Mods - Any chance we could do a regular post on "memories of..." where folks can recall stories of following the bears?
  8. I am not surprised to see Whyte now finally settle with McIntyre and I expect to see him to something similar with Bain before that reaches the courtroom. It seems Whyte's strategy for all liabilities (potential or otherwise) is to delay payment until the last possible moment. This is seen with the various other court actions which have been settled. Other indications are the various court orders freezing bank funds for HMRC and other liabilities and generally the significant in cash per the accounts released last week.
  9. Would be good to see/hear the RST and other supporters groups get some interviews in print and on radio openly questioning the SFA's new disciplinary process as well as backing up Ally. I can't see it changing this year but there are some fundamental flaws in the way it has been designed.
  10. Way I read Ally's statement after the outcome of the review panel's decisionw as known, was that he could think of a few cases "off the top of his head", and they just happened to involve a couple of decisions that were not reviewed which included Celtic players. I'm sure if Ally and Lennon were to sit down together they could both come up with impressive dossiers of perceived/actual injustices that have gone for and against them, but the point being that the objectivity that is supposed to be supplied by involving a legal person in the process, has been undermined due to the lack of transparency (we don't know who or why decisions are passed to the CO, nor do we know what criteria he applies to determine whether a decision should be referred to a 3-man panel; we also don't know (officially) who sits on these panels unless they are revealed such as was done by Ally on Thursday) or consistency (apparently similar incidents appear to be arbitrarily referred/acted upon, others are not). Quite frankly, the sheer ignorance and obfuscation by many, including the SFA and the usual media suspects, on this issue, is breathtaking.
  11. Cheers! Gonna stick a couple of quid on a 3-0 win too. What can go wrong?
  12. Rangers 3 - 0 Dunfermline Reason? See: http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?36761-Memories-of-1989
  13. 25 Novermber 1989 I was an 8 year old Rangers daft boy being taken by his Dad and his mate (sadly no longer with us, RIP Billy Lowrie) to Ibrox for the very first time. It was a foggy day in Glasgow but that did nothing to dampen the spirits. We stopped into the Stadium Bar pre-match to soak up the atmosphere and banter. I got into a conversation with a punter about Maradona's Hand of God goal v England and had the whole thing bang to rights. Asked if I was going to be a referee when I grew up? My Dad, always razor sharp in these scenarios: "nae chance, I married his mother!" Off to the match and a fine 3-0 win against Dunfermline Athletic. It was Ray Wilkins last ever game for Rangers before moving to QPR, an emotional day. I still remember his through ball to MoJo for the opening goal. Class player. Two more goals followed from Terry Butcher and then Super Ally. Situated high up in the Main Stand, I joined in as the entire stadium sang "Super Ally, Super Ally o-way o-way o-way". The naivete of youth - they were in fact singing "Super Ray, Super Ray o-way o-way o-way". Wilkins left the pitch in tears having been substituted in the second half. He did so to a standing ovation. The reason these memories came flooding back today? Well, I take my two boys to their first ever Rangers game tomorrow. Rangers v Dunfermline Athletic. Our Manager? My boyhood hero, Alistair McCoist. My eldest is 8 years old, just a couple of months older than I was at the time. Hopefully tomorrow creates similar memories for him and his brother. WATP!
  14. When are the club expected to have a finalised audit report and audit opinion? Say the outcome of the tax case is that we win but HMRC appeal, we are still in a positition of uncertainty. If we lose but appeal ourselves, would that be a different matter in terms of going concern status?
  15. I can understand the reluctance to pay a fee if we feel we have grounds to NOT pay a fee. But I do think that we should just sign him up and take our chance. There's prudence, and there's a team that could do with a wee injection of fresh blood. I have faith that this is the one of the reasons behind the move to snap him up so I am hopeful he might be in the squad for the weekend, but not overly hopeful.
  16. He was quoted as saying he would only leave for the Premiership if it was for a club of the stature of a Man United. Not sure I quite believed him on that because if someone was to come along and offer me 3 times my current salary I would have a very serious decision to make. Basically i would have to think very hard for reasons NOT to go.
  17. Seems Aberdeen will take it all the way to tribunal if they don't get a fee. They would, mind you. My view is that if he's good enough to improve or add depth to the first team squad, then that is worth taking the chance if the worst case is we have to fork out circa £180k. But for the life of me I can't see how Aberdeen can justify this if they only paid £50k for him.
  18. £9m-£10m offer and I can see him going, sadly. Much will depend on timing. If someone offers that at the start of the window it could be very difficult to hang onto him.
  19. That did cross my mind. Literally anything to sell a paper will be printed.
  20. Leggo is much more focused and less rambling when he takes aim on Speirs!
  21. Can't see the attraction from Shagger's perspective. He's just signed a long term deal, his missus has just had a baby. Why move to a foreign land with so much uncertainty over whether he'll settle, to an economy thats likely to be depressed for many years. Who's to say he'd get paid??
  22. Hmmm. Leggo indulging in some Phil Mc3names style "a well placed source" says, type speculation. Whether there is any truth to it is anyones guess.
  23. Be prepared for the full ensemble of Headinthesandery (the new Whataboutery) to churned through over the next few days. "It was Juan Guy" "Its only a minority" "The songs are political, not sectarian" "It was pyoor they H** bastards wot started it" Feel free to add to the list as we hear it.
  24. My spidey senses tell me Celtc are going to go on a wee run of wins, and we need to be on our guard to make sure we keep winning. I hope I am wrong!
