  1. Lemme get this right. The Offensive Behaviour Bill is due to go for its final vote in Parliament on Wednesday and Labour decide that 48 hours before hand is about the right time to come up with some alternative measures that they think should be implemented instead? Gies peace ya no mark fuds.
  2. Its an approach not without its risks. Just ask Peter Lawell about Samararse.
  3. We have invested circa £3m in buying him + 3.5 years of not an insignificant wage on the guy. Seems perfectly sensible to me to look to preserve that.
  4. That gets the of approval.
  5. Not solely on their shoulders. I would also suggest that the non-exective directors: Messrs Johnson, Murray, McLelland, et al; all had a fiduciary duty to satisfy themselves as to the veracity of any tax composition.
  6. It is a strange one. Has there not been rumours of one or two clubs from France sniffing around him? Could this be a way of protecting his sell-on value, which will erode as the next 18 months runs down? What I mean is, if we sign him on on a long term deal but with a minimum release clause that the club would be happy to accept should it be offered?
  7. Welcome. Duncan will keep you right when you are munchied and have run out of skins.
  8. Having seen that, its really not worth bothering about. We need to pick our fights carefully.
  9. Aluko doing the bouncy? The SFA will judge it to be a sectarian dance, no doubt.
  10. Including the SFA!
  11. That. Is. Uncanny.
  12. FFS!!! Would be have been an equaliser!
  13. I think Fleck especially moving for 6 months is a must. He is no-where near the starting 11 when the team is crying out for a more creative player. Yet, to a man, all the chat from his team-mates is that he's a "player". Something not quite right.
  14. I daren't get close enough to notice. No idea what sets you off
  15. What, like this? You'll go blind.
  16. Its like that is it?
  17. Went for Thanks/Groans. Was quite happy with the old system, if it ain't broke, etc etc
  18. That should just go into the annual awards instead
  19. There isn't actually a war of words though, is there? You have Coisty going off on one, and Lennon being asked to comment on it by the media.
  20. Great wee story 54AC. Admin/Mods - Any chance we could do a regular post on "memories of..." where folks can recall stories of following the bears?
  21. I am not surprised to see Whyte now finally settle with McIntyre and I expect to see him to something similar with Bain before that reaches the courtroom. It seems Whyte's strategy for all liabilities (potential or otherwise) is to delay payment until the last possible moment. This is seen with the various other court actions which have been settled. Other indications are the various court orders freezing bank funds for HMRC and other liabilities and generally the significant in cash per the accounts released last week.
  22. Would be good to see/hear the RST and other supporters groups get some interviews in print and on radio openly questioning the SFA's new disciplinary process as well as backing up Ally. I can't see it changing this year but there are some fundamental flaws in the way it has been designed.
  23. Way I read Ally's statement after the outcome of the review panel's decisionw as known, was that he could think of a few cases "off the top of his head", and they just happened to involve a couple of decisions that were not reviewed which included Celtic players. I'm sure if Ally and Lennon were to sit down together they could both come up with impressive dossiers of perceived/actual injustices that have gone for and against them, but the point being that the objectivity that is supposed to be supplied by involving a legal person in the process, has been undermined due to the lack of transparency (we don't know who or why decisions are passed to the CO, nor do we know what criteria he applies to determine whether a decision should be referred to a 3-man panel; we also don't know (officially) who sits on these panels unless they are revealed such as was done by Ally on Thursday) or consistency (apparently similar incidents appear to be arbitrarily referred/acted upon, others are not). Quite frankly, the sheer ignorance and obfuscation by many, including the SFA and the usual media suspects, on this issue, is breathtaking.
