  1. I'm sure the guys intentions are in the right place but I am just not sure what he will actually achieve. If he had concerns about the legality of the takeover, which I presume is the intention in seeking the "Intelligence and Enforcement Directorate" carrying out an investigation. If he has proof, lets hear it. Otherwise, please let Whyte get on with managing the club and dealing with the outcome of the tax case.
  2. Look after ourselves is my view. We've been done in the past so take any bit of fortune we can get.
  3. I'm not sure what to make of this.
  4. Agree with BD. Some pertinent points obscured by mudslinging. Interesting that the DR's apparently new found "interest" in all things Craig Whyte has coincided not too long after their latest round of redundancies and reorganisation. All part of a new found strategy? Any word on the AGM as promised yesterday?
  5. Oh well. Lets hope we dodged a bullet like with Loovens.
  6. He turned up at Murray Park the other day for an appointment with the club doctor. Leggo saying its because Murray struggles with access to the doc's West End practice so it was held there, which I think is significantly more plausible than the suggestions that Murray is working his ticket back to the club.
  7. Not forgetting that we've already had our fingers burned to an extent by forcing through the transfer of Bedoya after signing him on a pre-contract. Now, Bedoya could well come good but you can perhaps understand if there's a little apprehension on doing this again.
  8. Rangers in "refusing to pay over the odds" shocker. Whatever next? I can't be too unhappy with this one because clearly this guy's agent has been speaking to the press and this is where the leaks to the press have come from. That said, the guy seems to think we've undervalued him. This I don't get. He's playing for St Johnstone and has done the square root of not a lot his entire career aside from a good half a season. We've signed players on that basis before but he's hardly in the mould of even Kenny Miller who we sold last January for around £400k given he was in the last 6 months of his contract and we could have lost him for nothing. So £300k for Sandaza? He'a aff his nut!
  9. Did he leave then? Seem to read that he wasn't one of those going...
  10. For all he's a bit of a comedy figure amongt the support, the lad seems to have a wee bit about him. Decent pace, technique and good composure with his finish. Albeit his compsosure deserted him shortly afterwards when he had another chance but he's a player I'd like to see get more game time.
  11. I agree to a point. But given his injuries its not like he has been sitting there for last 3-4 years waiting for a chance. He's maybe only been available for selection as a first team squad player this year from around September. Good luck to the guy in the future though. Guaranteed he plays against us in the future and gives us a roasting.
  12. Disagree. Regardless of his contract situation, Fulham or any other EPL club fancies him then they could easily afford a £3m or so, or whatever we value him at.
  13. Building up quite a convincing arguament then... That said, he was one of our better performers on Wedndesday there.
  14. Heard/read this one too. Broadfoot will always be a back up player so if someone comes along and offers him regular football and good wages we'd be churlish to stand in his way. We have Ortiz, McMillan, Cole and possibly Edu who could all play in that position as back up to Whittaker so if we can get some cash for him then.... CHA CHING!
  15. Welcome aboard Naisy. How's the injury doing? Any chance you'll be back before the end of the season?
  16. There is a role for a creative midfielder in the team currently?! Kidding. I'd play Fleck. Seems to be a weekly saying of mine but he should get a minimum 10/12 starts consecutively. Tell the lad he's playing and what role we need him to play. We need to see if he's capable and we are short on other options. Every time you read other players talking of him they all rate him highly. Time for him to step up
  17. Shagger - agreed. Solid but not quite his usual standard. Whittaker, Papac - agreed on both. Boca was the standout last night I thought and has been pretty consistent. Goian's had a dip in form I felt over the last few games. Aluko - has flashes of good play but drifts a bit, especially second half. McCulloch - only effective at times. Largely ineffective though. Edu - good start to the season but our poor form has coincided with a dip from him. I don't think the team's form depends on Edu though. Wylde - young and inexperienced wingers always likely to have periods of good and bad form. Needs to work on crossing the ball under pressure and also at keeping the team's width and playing more on the shoulder of his marker. With his pace he should get into more goal scoring positions, especially on the break. Davis - has been awful for months. I'd drop him and give the armband to Captain America. Jelavic - obviously has his head elsewhere. Time to cash in, as much as it pains me to say it. That said, he's thriving on next to no service whatsoever apart from hopeful punts from the back. No wonder he's maybe feeling disillusioned. Lafferty - couple of injuries hampered him but has been pretty consistent and scoring fairly regularly. Similar to Jelavic though, he would score far more if he actually had some service that he can work with.
  18. It shows. Last night was god awful.
  19. Agreed. I guess it comes down to the contract. What exactly is it they are providing us? Advertising space at preferential rates? Additional promotional opportunities? Access to new marketing channels? If that is what it is, it doesn't necessarily have to jeapordise journalistic integrity. I guess its the appearance of objectivity thats in question rather than whether their journalists actually are.
  20. Don't fancy being high up at the Beggardome tonight.
  21. I'm not saying any of what the OP says not true because I simply do not know. In mitigation to the above I would however say. We've heard "inside information" in the past but most of the doomsday scenarios out there so far have been from those who want to damage our club. Thus they are revelling in poring over the minutiae of information, speculating as to their providence and extrapolating conclusions.
  22. Some of the usual suspects on twitter suggesting that this will adversely impact on STV's impartiality. Not made up my mind about this yet.
  23. Possibly. Just seems a bit of a strange statement.
  24. Were there concerns that Strathclyde Police would NOT be policing the game similarly to previous fixtures?
  25. Another "snub" to the BBC?
