  1. Indeed. And that may suit the players. But its still a possibility they could be sold
  2. BBC Scotland reporter Martin Conaghan on the future of the players who have left Rangers continued: "Ultimately Fifa decides on each case - but the application for a transfer is made on behalf of the player by the SFA. The transfer windows are still open in Japan (8 January-2 April), USA/Canada (21 January-15 April) and Finland (1 March-30 April). On the above, could Edu, Boca and Bedoya seek transfers home. The fee's and wages would not be insignificant given the circumstances.
  3. Agreed, I was just speculating.
  4. Was gonna try and do a running total of how much saved/potentially saved but I think thats for another day. For me, anyway.
  5. Assuming Davis and Shagger are on 25k p/w. And Goian is on 15k p/w that's 65k p/w saved on basic wages. Add to bonuses, insurance costs, NI contributions and general player expenses and that is a significant chunk of the £1m savings required.
  6. All I would say is that internet personas do not represent majority opinion. Very disappointing to read though.
  7. Rumours that Davis, McGregor and Goian are the other 3 to have requested release.
  8. Its a link to the John Beattie show on Radio Scotland from last Thursday where he discusses the fact that the Bill was coming into effect that day. He has Stuart Waiton on who, rather impressively, disects all of the arguments for the bill. So yes, definately safe for work!
  9. Could they be agreeing to, say, allow Dunfermline to keep the ticket monies they receive from selling tickets for the next league game at Ibrox?
  10. The insolvent to the tune of £23m part interested me. Do you have more figures on that?
  11. Im sure I've heard Fraser Wishart talking about player contracts and that the majority of it is standard terms for all SPL players.
  12. I don't confess to know much about the guy. On the one hand he wouldn't be good as a clean break from those associated with the previous Board. On the other hand, he seems to want control for himself if it comes to pass and that isnt a sustainable model for us post-Murray/ post-Whyte.
  13. I don't think HMRC or Rangers know for certain what the outcome of the tribunal is. No doubt it causes uncertainty until such time as it is resolved one way or the other but I think Whyte has tried to use it to his own advantage. When he announced his reasons on Monday for creating notice of his intention to go into administration, he said this was the reason. Then we actually find out that all Whyte was doing was trying to flank HMRC who were on their way on Monday to raise their own petition to have us go into administration. All HMRC did was revise their petition and submit it Monday night for the hearing we eventually had on Tuesday afternoon. Knowing now that he hasn't paid substantial amounts of VAT, PAYE and NI which have fallen due since he took over, its clear that this was either his intention all along. I think some events have played a hand in this eventuality - e.g. our failure to achieve champions league or europa league football, has had a significant impact on our budget. But he has made a major error in thinking he can plug holes in our finance by failing to pay tax. The possibility of raising working capital by borrowing from ticketus was gone because he had already done that to secure the funds to buy the club. And all the while he's tried to protect any liability to himself by not investing any of his own cash and securing debts to himself. What a tawdry mess this has left us in.
  14. A small glimmer of hope but interesting that you highlight that rbr, because one of the pundits on Radio Clyde, Darrell King I think, who has long suggested that he has seen proof of the existence of these 'side letters' which allegedly supplemented the players contracts in respect of EBTs, was denying that he had actually seen any during the week. Basically he was asked further about it and backtracked rapdil
  15. I heard a suggestion, possibly on the radio, that Rangers' former lawyers withheld certain information to the SFA. Murkier and murkier.
  16. Agreed. Playing players out of position and the lack of tactical structure to our play have been worrying me too.
  17. Well, we know he has experience in football, in the media, as a Chief Executive, as an agent, and in running other businesses. I'm sure he's acquired a number of skills along the way. My argument being, that whatever they are, Whyte has basically used him as a puppet to appease the fans and to put on the appearance of professionalism and credibility. The interview with him that was on SSN the other day said it all for me. Whyte has been keeping him as much in the dark as everyone else.
  18. Off the pitch he has been a collosus. On the pitch, this season has been a car crash waiting to happen from quite early on. We were lucky that Celtic stuttered at the start of the season but once they got into their stride, all of the frailties of our squad have been exposed. Regularly. I'm loathe to criticise Ally too much though. It is evident that any real attempts to strengthen his squad (aside from tying up some players on long-term deals) have been thwarted by Whyte and he has been forced to bring in some bit part squad fillers who are not good enough - or, at least don't appear to be (Aluko excepted).
  19. As much as there is an argument for his skills not being utilised to their greatest effect, I suspect Whyte has used Smith as a puppet. Not the way we treat people. Not the Rangers way.
  20. It showed. The manner of our transfer dealings appeared to be naieve and/or stupid. However, given now that we have more of an understanding of the scheming of Whyte, it really wasn't naievete at all. It was just a case of trying to put on a professional front
  21. I had asked him about it earlier in the day and his reply was to say they were trying to find out.
  22. Like I just said on Twitter Danny, Alistair Lamont tweeted the following yesterday: "On my way to Murray Park for Ally McCoist news conf. BBC given permission to attend"
  23. Thoughts on what I have read about the Admininstrator's press conference: Whyte is fecked. And, quite frankly, good riddance. The signs were there all along but any benefit of the doubt extended to him has been well and truly recinded due to the shady way he operates.
  24. Cheers for the updates BlueMazza. Been a while since we've had a regular female poster. Has anyone told you about Wija or the totty thread?
