This "loan" from Green to fund club through CVA
stewarty replied to Tannochsidebear's topic in Rangers Chat
Its certainly going to be a big week. If the CVA is approved, Green has promised to reveal more about his backers and some of the finer detail and proof that his takeover stacks up. If the CVA fails, we move toward a newco. Who would bet against the FTT announcing its findings too? -
As ever, the proof is in the pudding. We said this from day 1 with Craig Whyte and the strategy was flawed. So you can understand the reluctance to accept any assertions or spin at face value. I welcome the assurances provided but unless we get the substantive information promised upon agreement of the CVA (if it gets agreement), then gloves will be off.

Interesting to see that they have sought the views of Rangers fans. Whilst those who actually present the show might get wrapped up in their own self-important and green-tinted bubble, the commercial needs of the organisation should see their executives take a more objective view. They have seen our support grow in voice and with a greater sense of purpose in recent times. To ignore that would be silly.

Agreed. No doubt Miller had some business advisors on this side of the pond to keep him appriased of his options, but the fact he was attracted to the deal in the first place, and that this was his preferred option, suggests that it was put to him by someone. Answer's on the back of a stamp as to who...

I'd be surprised if FIFA insist on additional action being taken. But then, as has been said, FIFA are currupt and believe they are above the law.

As asked Mark Daly and Alistair Lamont on twitter earlier what exactly their point was with regards to the latest set of emails. And given the Admin's response within the article which seems to suggest it was a lot of stuff and nonsense, what was Mark Daly's response. Given that Admins are referring them to m'learned friends, perhaps that will explain why they haven't replied. I just hope Admins follow through with the threat and raise an action. Will be amusing to see them squirm.

Admin Statement just released:

I'm pretty sure that his role as CEO is part of the CVA document.

I don't think its that. I question a number of their words and actions but D&P are court appointed and are supposed to act in the interests of creditors. At the outset I suspect Whyte would have been telling them that he was the secured creditor and all they needed to worry about in terms of getting agreement to a CVA - hence the in and out by March payday stuff, and D&P promising to keep fees to £500k if that is the case. Almost from the moment the D&P got their foot in the door they've uncovered that Whyte has woven a web of lies and deceit that has taken months to unravel. Ergo, we are where we are.

Green appears to be playing the peacekeeper role so far with noises about drawing a line in the sand. That said, he has clearly supported the court action and doesn't seem short of an opinion or two. We need a strong CEO who will have our detractors in his sights. Lets hope Green is that man.

So, the St Mirren Chairman thinks a dangerous precedent has been set by raising an action in the Court of Session? The reality is that a dangerous precedent has been set by the SFA in acting out with its competence and by not permitting arbitration via CAS, as is required by FIFA. What an arse.

Even a blind man can see Scottish football is total shambles
stewarty replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I agree with his substantive points but I struggled to read that. The style was plain english on steroids. -
Fingers crossed. I am skeptical whether some of the positive noises about the CVA being acceptable to HMRC or Ticketus are actually true.

Can't imagine any former employee who received even a few thousand pounds would want to get dragged into this mess any further than it is currently.
-
I should clarify, I'm not sure it matters who he/they are in that it wont necessarily assist the club in dealing with our issues. However, I am all for exposing those who seek to damage us.

Craig Whyte said he gave us £250K - says Banstead Athletic boss

Exactly. A baffling side-issue to this whole mess. And it would seem that Collyer Bristow are in deep s***. -
BBC documentary reopens Rangers' barely healed wounds - Traynor
stewarty replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Interesting understated but negative language from Traynor. "A valiant attempt", "tries to take the story forward"... Then being rightly critical of the the inclusion of Speirs. He's likely hurting that such a high profile documentary has featured a number of his and the DR's revelations, but that they have not given him/DR credit. -
Rangers: SPL set deadline for investigation documents

Hence why I'd be keen for m'learned friends to be consulted and for them to draft a wee letter to Herr Doncaster -
Rangers: SPL set deadline for investigation documents
stewarty replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
If I was D&P I'd be seeking legal advice. Anyone for a wee injunction telling the SPL to feck off as their demands are time consuming and would be to the detriment of their ability to get the CVA done? This is their primary concern and god knows we can do without them getting any further distracted from it. -
Administrators' Statement On BBC Documentary
stewarty replied to Rangers Football Club's topic in Rangers Chat
One of their senior partners (David Grier) was advising Craig Whyte on aspects of the takeover process. He did so whilst working for a company called MCR which was subsequently taken over by Duff & Phelps. Given that Whyte's actions in the club being placed in administration (i.e. by non payment of PAYE and VAT), and that Mark Daly is suggesting that the email trail revealed last night suggests that not only was Grier knowledgeable of the deal Whyte struck with Ticketus, he advised Whyte on it and indeed initiated invoices on the matter. Given that Grier is now a senior partner at D&P, has been seen at the side of Whyte and in and around Ibrox on occasions during the last year, and that D&P have now raised a legal action against Ticketus in respect of the deal that Daly alleges Grier advised on; it would then appear that Duff & Phelps have a conflict of interest. -
There may be other reasons for the RST taking this approach but the basis of what their statement says, is valid. There are significant question marks about the independence of D&P and there is a serious allegation of conflicted interests here which could have significant consequences. On that basis, to call for this to be investigated seems perfectly valid. Should D&P be found not to be conflicted then fine. But until this is determined formally, the questions will remain.

I heard whispers that Stewart Milne's company(companies?) may not exactly be "flush" at the minute. Could be complete nonsense of course but there would be a sense of irony if Milne was to withdraw is financial backing and for Aberdeen to go into administration. I don't wish to see anything like this scenario happen to any club but I'll make an exception in their case - vile cretins that they are.

Administrators' Statement On BBC Documentary
stewarty replied to Rangers Football Club's topic in Rangers Chat
As stated on the programme, conflict of interest concerns not only actual conflicts, but the perception of a conflict. There has been sufficient evidence pretty much since D&P were appointed that there was an appearance of their conflicted interest. I'd like to see the evidence that Daly is suggesting confirms the apparent conflict is tested in court. But is there time?
