Wouldn't surprise me at all. van Gaal is hopeless in charge, no better than Moyes. It would be the fitting job for him and United could well do with someone of his calibre. Better move quick though, when it's gone it's gone.

Kenny Miller admits Rangers' performance level has dropped in recent weeks - but says the players are fully focused on promotion. http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/teams/rangers/10101008/miller-performance-levels-have-dropped Our performances have dropped...but remain top!

What ever happened to all these wonderful women who's jobs were looking after men footballers and taking care of menial jobs like cooking, scrubbing, looking after the kids and waiting on the 'weeks wages' being thrown on the bed?

Mourinho after his sacking when asked 'where do you go from here Jose?'...'Glasgow Rangers!' came the reply. 'But they are doing well at the moment Jose' 'No they are in a bad state after every opposition club up there threw them out of their league?' 'Yes but SuperAlly chucked it last year' 'Oh..did he, who's in charge now?'...'Mark Warburton'...'Ahh, the Mageeck Hat as he's known in circles..that count's me out then!'

Out of interest...who would you think who's place would have been in danger if you'd made the grade at Rangers back in the day BH?

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11788/10102769/rangers-poised-to-repay-1635m-sports-direct-loan? Lawyers representing the Ibrox outfit claimed in a London courtroom last week that Mike Ashley's retail firm had had the loan taken out by the club's former regime repaid. But the claim was denied 24 hours later by Ashley's QC - raising further doubts about Rangers' financial state. However, Murray said the money raised by himself, chairman Dave King and investors Douglas Park, George Letham, George Taylor and John Bennett is now ready to be handed over. Murray told STV: "First of all to clear up what happened in court last week, that was just a simple mistake which was made by our QC. He didn't have the facts to his fingertips. "The facts are quite simple, we have £5m on deposit with a solicitors at the moment. The loan will be repaid as soon as the legal documentation is in place." Shouldn't have given them a penny...but embarrassed themselves, and the club coming up short like that. We can do without 'bullets off mirrors' in our situation.

It does sound a bit 'exaggerated' when you think about it, nothing wrong with the 'auldies' telling a tale or two.

A Big Big loss to the EPL...but they'll survive for a few more years yet as the product diminishes.

On the subject of 'money NOT talking' when it comes to playing for Rangers. Back in 1936 a young lad was hustled out of his Lanark Grammar School classroom to be told by his father, who by the way was a fair left back with Forth Wanderers in his day, "Son, you are going to Glasgow to play for Rangers". He had been invited to Ibrox by Manager Bill Struth who told him, "£2.00 per week my boy and I can promise you that if you accept and sign for Rangers you will never regret it. You will have the opportunity of a wonderful career. If you can get any more than that elsewhere you are welcome to take it". Willie Waddell was the lad, he didn't bother to mention Portsmouth, a few days earlier, had offered him £6.00 a week!

Yes Happy Birthday JH. Penalty Kick King 65 goals scored from 68, 22 consecutively. It's amazing to think he managed to kick that big leather ba' so accurately so many times. Wonder what he thinks today when he sees someone on hundreds of thousands of pounds per week miss one with these lightweight fancy boz.

At the end of that particular season Benfica made an approach for Andy Penman and Willie Johnston but were told to sling their hook.

Milne keen to see Rangers and Hibs in top division

Doncaster had this to say when the subject of reconstruction came up in July of this year... It must be written somewhere that this 'three year fixed term' cannot be binned. -
Transfer Deadline Day: Michael O'Halloran signs until 2020

Some would say he made a good decision there...I wouldn't. -
Emilio Izzaguirre isn't a very popular player today amongst those from the dark side, his grief filled actions today have probably made him even more unpopular in the minds of that minority who attach themselves to that club and at the same time strengthen feelings from those of a more compassionate nature ...the murder of Peralta will at best unite against such hatred. RIP Arnie.

...and, a holiday in Palma Novo one year late into a drinking session with fellow holiday makers an Englishman appeared the worst for weather, said he had tickets for the Barcelona match against local rivals Espanyol the next day and asked how to get there...someone in the company said 'the 22 bus takes you right to the stadium Gov'...reply 'thanks mate'.

It would have just been me and muttering "where the feck is everybody?"

If Holt hadn't panicked with the last kick we'd have all went home happy, if Tav hadn't made a simple error with his cushioned back-pass it wouldn't have mattered where Holt put his effort. Games can hinge on one or two moments in 90 minutes and that's what makes it so exciting. The fact that Hibz didn't take any advantage at all was a bonus we'll greatly take...they'll be gutted about that fearing a play-off place might be inevitable, and hurting more this week than any bear. They won't handle the pressure in front of a crammed Ibrox on the 26th , firstly, we must beat Falkirk again on the 19th to get the fans back onside.

Ally McCoist leads tributes to Arnold Peralta after former Rangers midfielder's murder: Ally McCoist led the tributes to former Rangers midfielder Arnold Peralta on Friday night after the Honduras international was murdered in a shooting in his homeland. The 26-year-old was found dead in the car park of a shopping centre while on holiday in his hometown of La Ceiba, according to a statement from the Honduran government's Ministry of Security. He had only recently celebrated the birth of a daughter with his partner. Peralta - capped 26 times by his country – was signed for Rangers by McCoist in June 2013, making 29 appearances over an 18-month spell in Scotland. McCoist, who stepped down as Ibrox manager a year ago, recalled Peralta's infectious enthusiasm as he attempted to come to terms with the tragic news. 'I'm absolutely devastated, those are the only words I can use,' he told Sportsmail. 'He was a smashing wee fella who was liked by everyone around him. He had that wee bit of devilment about him, old-school devilment if you like, and we all took to him. He was a wee bubbly character around the place. That was him. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3356811/Ally-McCoist-leads-tributes-Arnold-Peralta-former-Rangers-midfielder-s-murder-m-absolutely-devastated-smashing-wee-guy-took-him.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

Claim that Rangers have repaid £5m Mike Ashley loan in full 'incorrect'

It's out there so thought it appropriate to post it in Gersnet It's an SNP publication so might not sit easy with some....http://www.thenational.scot/sport/football-claim-that-rangers-have-repaid-5m-mike-ashley-loan-in-full-incorrect-court-is-told.11124? THE bitter legal dispute between Sports Direct tycoon Mike Ashley and Rangers chairman Dave King took another twist when it was claimed in court that the Ibrox club have not after all repaid the £5 million loan it owes to the Newcastle United owner. On Thursday, King’s legal team told a High Court hearing in London the loan had been repaid in full. However, David Quest QC, acting for Ashley, told Mr Justice Peter Smith yesterday: “That is not correct. The £5m has not been repaid.” Quest said an email had revealed the club were still trying to raise “another £500,000” to return to Ashley. The hearing is over alleged contempt of court by King for breaching a court-backed order banning him from publicly discussing Sports Direct’s business with the Ibrox club. Ashley had earlier failed to have King jailed for the alleged contempt, the judge rejecting the application. But the judge has still to rule on whether King is in contempt of court for breaching confidentiality undertakings. The case will resume in January. Ashley and his company applied for King to be jailed on the grounds he gave a Sky Sports interview revealing the existence of a meeting and discussions related to contracts between Sports Direct and Rangers. Yesterday the judge read out parts of a Sky report of the previous hearing in an attack on the press. “‘King faced up to 30 days in prison’, that was corrected by me during the course of yesterday,” he said. “‘A judge in the High Court ruled he was not in breach of the order’, I corrected that. “The obliging reporter is none other than Jim White. Like all journalists, he just cut and pasted what another journalist said.” Justice Smith, who will give his full reasons for not jailing King next month, also bizarrely told the court: “I am not and have never been a Freemason.
