  1. Haha...just read my post back! How do you spell that guys name?
  2. I agree he hasn't done much and agree he should be sent back only because of his contribution so far. But we have reached a corner regards Zelalem his career is going downhill atm and like yourself have condemned his contribution so far, some people of importance at Arsenal are this seeing also, but you picked the wrong moment to 'join in'...he did make an 'assist' after coming on late in the game, maybe that wake-up call he got from the 'Arsenal end' and all the negatives regarding his comments have suddenly made him 'aware' of home truths. The pass to Tav was the right pass at the right time, if Tav had blasted his shot high and wide we would have groaned, but that wouldn't have been Zelamens fault, sure the guy has proved to us he's not much worth to us (or Arsenal for that matter) but he's maybe getting a 'learning progress' that comes with age. Zalelem hasn't set the house on fire because he 'doesn't like it up here' who can blame him for that? Now he finds himself in a situation, this is your life mate...what do you want to do? His pass to Tav was as instructed...'don't punt it into the box'
  3. JAMES TAVERNIER was delighted that Rangers six-goal rout of Dumbarton kept their foot on Hibs throat in the race for the Championship. The Englishman bagged his 11th goal of the campaign at the weekend and also set up three other strikes. But he said the win was vital because it sent a message to the Easter Road men after Rangers 4-2 win over Alan Stubbs men the last week saw them open up a three-point gap at the top of the second tier. He said: “We wanted to follow up from the Hibs game and put on the same display. We didn’t want our standards to drop. “We went from playing in front of 50,000 to different surroundings but we kept the motivation up in training all week ahead of this game. “It was a good performance and we have to be relentless when we play and try to score as many as we possibly can. “It doesn’t matter what time it is in the game. If we’re 2-0 up we want to score more goals and it’s the same even if we’re 5-0 ahead." Tavernier was equally delighted that the defence held firm at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium as Dumbarton folded in the face of Gers goals rush He told the club website: “I was delighted we got the clean sheet. That’s what we really wanted. And then to set up three goals and score myself was a massive bonus. I thought I was going to stay on 10 goals for a while but I’m pleased it went into the back of the net. “I’m also happy for Kenny Miller getting the hat-trick and Andy Halliday getting his goal. It shows the boys are really enjoying their football again and there’s a good vibe in the dressing room.” http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/rangers/14181365.Six_goal_win_sent_a_message_to_Hibs_that_we_won_t_drop_our_standards__says_Rangers_ace_James_Tavernier/? I thought the 4-2 win at Ibrox was magnificent after the pressure everyone put on the game, but my concern, admittedly, was the following game at Dumbarton. Dumbarton's football arena isn't exactly the Amsterdam Arena is it? Of course it isn't... but if we are honest with ourselves we'll admit it's a dire place for any professional footballer to strut there stuff at...but we did, we went there and played football. Not many clubs will go there and win 6-0...it's such an uninviting ground I think, lacking in almost everything a football ground should be.
  4. Hi 'Big Jaws' ...couldn't have put it better than the way you did, welcome to Gersnet. (But you should have introduced yourself in the welcome thread!
  5. Slightly off topic...I was travelling in a taxi through Shettleston then into the Parkhead area on my journey into town on Xmas night, we passed by the P.Drome and it was lit up like the Blackpool illuminations, must be in to fiddling with elec meters now! For those not familiar with that route...it's very rundown except when you hit that place, then after it's just as bad especially the 'barras' area....baffling!
  6. Yeah sure, but you ruined your post by questioning Zelalems 'assist'?
  7. ...to an on form Tavernier running at full tilt, if he hadn't made that pass the game would have finished 5-0. It's an assist in every meaning of the word?
  8. MW getting slagged again...should we believe what we read in the Scottish papers?
  9. SDM said the song should be banned then sold us for a quid to a crook?
  10. What words are actually offensive? Is it the F word, or up to our knees in blood, or the admiration for The Billy Boys itself? Anybody know?
  11. Won't happen, they are going down.
  12. The point is though, it won't inspire the team now the way it used to, not with all the stigma attached to it nowadays. (Might even have the opposite effect) We should put it behind us until a different version of it can be adhered to which I doubt will ever happen.
  13. What!!! Jimmy Hill wasn't a poof? ....and on that bombshell, goodnight!
  14. Although the anthem 'Hullo Hullo' was rousing and inspiring for the team, we have a book load of songs that work the same way.
  15. For the first time ever I find myself taking a real interest in the relegation 'battle' in the premiership (or whatever it's called). Us going up at their expense would be something to celebrate. I'd love it if on the day we are crowned Champions of the championship they are officially announced as relegated.
  16. Bet you wouldn't want to put that theory to the test?
  17. I know a father & son who are season ticket holders at the piggery...senior voted No, junior voted Yes.
  18. I'm sure Frankie ran a poll on here on the build up to the Yes/No campaign and the majority voted YES? It even made headlines in one of the newspapers!
  19. No we don't! Wish you would stop it for ffs! We have the worldly goods to take us up.
  20. I'm finding this to be true....Happy New Year folks!
  21. CHRIST! The Bay Siitter Rollers introduced by Jackie Bird? Ouch!
  22. Better be an effin Happy New Year...I got an invite to the Royal Infirmary Staff Dance because my face was recognised during 2015...accepted the invite but couldn't attend because of another appointment? Drat! No worries though folks...a very Happy New Year to all on Gersnet.
  23. Bet Zelalem sat there on the bench couldn't care less, not the night for negatives but in his case I'll differ. Do we need him? Nope!
  24. Seems to be a lot of shouting for signing a striker or strikers in the January window, I disagree with this on the basis we are doing fine in the goals department without the need for it. Yes we need one or two Jelavic types but not until promotion is guaranteed simply because they won't come here until it's actually guaranteed, I'm sure we all know this. No-one has mentioned anyone with ability and what we need and who might be available. Yes it would be 'sensational' if we plucked a renowned striker from some club with reluctance to sell, but that's never going to happen in January for obvious reasons. I expect the board are looking towards next summer for the right man/men to fire us to 55.
  25. ...or maybe realise his career is under threat and start producing...who knows.
